Roll20 is fine if you want the DM to be in charge of everything except rolling dice, this means that others cannot move their own game tokens. No, you're in control of your own token. We all know you were against Roll20 the moment you heard about it, but you can't just lie about it to try and influ...

I'm pretty sure that the only "good" multiclassing systems are ones where you always select powers based on your whole character level. Well, you can make a subclassing system, that would work. -Username17 You don't need subclasses. At level 2 you get a level 2 power. At level 3 you get a...

Yeah, I'm particularly wondering about the casual players versus the elite players. The people that made it to 21; how many of the 340 adventures did they make? ~100? One every 3 days? How long were the adventures? Out of the 340 games offered, he following people offered this many games Duralan 10...

Wouldn't an E6 cap solve some of the issues with overshadowing and combat length? Or is the loss of high level play too much for you and your players? The original intention of Black Marches was to play a full campaign. 1. Because I had never participated in nor run a campaign that went all the way...

@Hogarth Keep in mind that Black Marches has its roots in early 2010 and was at the time, the only place I was aware of that was using a wiki to organize an online tabletop shared campaign setting. Also keep in mind that unlike Pathfinder Society, every Black Marches adventure is unique and DMs are ...

Epic Spell was taken by a couple of characters. Effectively all it did was add another way to play Rocket Launcher Tag.

Only infinite loops are explicitly banned. Characters are not allowed to take things which make challenge meaningless aka Pun-Pun.

@Dragonchild The issue I've had and part of the experiment was to see what an optimized Online Campaign would look like. What happens when you explicitly allow all D&D material with only the caveat of avoiding infinite loops and toning it down if asked politely to. Those were the standards, and ...

An Online Multi-DM Campaign Setting Experiment:Black Marches

Dear all, I recently completed a 10 month campaign experiment which I reminisce about here about the context for the experiment, the results of the experiment, and thoughts on a future method of designing and running an online RPG could be done. I welcome your thoughts and questions if anything writ...

Quite honestly I think you're Putting the chicken before the egg. What you're proposing are not insignificant changes but ones which proclude all sorts of other balance ones. You would be much better served by limiting material (which you have done) and then limiting level (e6 may be a good solution...

Quite honestly the problems you mention are not problems. As a DM you should try to end the adventure within a session. If not the pcs return to a common location where they can do other adventures and do those adventures and possibly come back to finish the first one. Cinematically the characters m...

Wotc have got to be the biggest fools, I've ever seen. If paizo is half competent on their vtt they'll blow Wotc out of the water.

Vtt gaming is a large part of the future, I exclusively play D&d over vtt. I gotta remark how surprised I am att how bad of moves these are.

Wow!

If you have bounded accuracy and you have scaling hp you need scaling damage. I feel here is where they will utterly fail.

To respond to the OP: Bo9S didn't doom 4E. 4E doomed 4E. The power level of Bo9S powers wasn't quite up to the level of casters because the designers still didn't really understand or want to understand what casters were capable of. They were still going off of the paradigm that casters were cool a ...

Quite honestly it might be worth it to have a kick starter to get frank to get the $5000 prize for Paizo's kickstarter. That way Frank can tell Buhlman and the other execs a thing or two! That would be worth the money!

I'm always amazed how easily people get discouraged. Openrpg starts with the Behir example sheet, from there you can just directly edit it and turn it into your own character sheet with macros. It's extremely convenient to have an organized set of macros, being able to roll all your characters attac...

It's called Openrpg, been around for years and is truly free, allowing macros, modules, an all sorts of great stuff.

A more stable Openrpg with built on voice chat support would be worth it. But only if it came with all the features of Openrpg which I doubt this thing will for awhile

You don't need name or even a piece of paper. I could just be yelling bang bang, and the other person could just say "missed me. Bang bang"

And that's not D&D, that's MTP. D&D needs numbers, period, and you're silly for suggesting otherwise.

Oh. IS THAT FUCKING ALL? So in order to balance your multiclassing concept out to level 10, "all" you have to do is run power combination experiments for 36 different level/power combos and then repeat the process for 55 different class combinations. So before we even get into such questi...

So your "solution" to the fact that it is really fucking hard to balance a Fighter/Wizard is to make there be nine different ways to write Fighter/Wizard on your character sheet at 10th level, that there should be one thousand and twenty two different ways to get to be a 10th level Fighte...
