I'm not even trying to bait them, heh. Just trying to get their thoughts.

EDIT: I'm betting it'll be something along the lines of "JUST CREATE A RITUAL FOR IT!1!1!" I'll have to cut off that line of thought right from the get-go.

See this sort of argument drives me crazy. So you aren't in combat, and you are playing 4E, your choices are: 1) Not be an Illusionist at all. 2) Claim that you can make illusions, even though the rules say you can't. Ask everyone else to join you in your game of Magical Tea Party. So you can't pla...

But how exactly is using illusions role-playing? Isn't that just mechanical? (Again, devil's advocate.)

EDIT:

--WotC is coming out with special classes like the summoner and necromancer! They will have balanced class options available then!1!1

To play the devil's advocate: isn't role-playing dependent upon the players, not the system?

The fact that the rules are too simplistic for loopholes is negated by the fact that the developers are too incompetent not to provide them.

I'm pretty sure FATAL is the most successful "so-blatant-it's-stealthy" troll ever created. If that's the case, since it's supposedly 900 pages long, that was a lot of work just to piss people off. I would totally do that. And then I would print out copies and hand them out at feminist co...

Wait, they have 25th-level diseases?

Are those like flu epidemics? Or are we just supposed to assume that adventurers are the only ones who encounter "dangerous" diseases and that said diseases are not communicable?

Random Thought: Combining Feats

I was considering this because I was thinking of Pathfinder's feat system: you get a feat every other level instead of one every three levels. Now, while I'm a fan of giving players more options with their characters, getting all those feats down on paper can be a hassle. Instead of giving players e...

I don't think bosses should be either, really. It leads directly to the total fubar that Mearls produced in Keep on the Shadowfell. The boss is only elite, but 5 levels higher than the PCs and has enough situational crap tacked on that its a TPK (or party retreat) probably 90% of the time. Maybe a ...

Well, I suppose I should say that 95% of the people on the WotC forums wouldn't have batted an eye. I wouldn't have, either, though I would have not allowed certain broken things. (My reasoning would be, "Good God, no, you can't have a megaraptor effigy," not, "OH NOES YOU'LL HAVE AN ...

Not a bad thread, per se, but something interesting I noticed: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1052962 In 3e, nobody would have batted an eye at a character having a golem. Solo, I think.

Elite is just a stronger version while boss is a sort of BBEG, right?

That's assuming all party members hit. Isn't the average 4e chance to hit around 50%? And assuming that the boss can't regenerate himself in some way.
