This seems like the place to try and develop and get feedback for an idea for religion in a setting. I like the idea of clerics being the source of their own power, but I also like the idea of gods. Ones so powerful that the side effects of their cosmic grappling can result in the accidental creatio...

Well, I think we can chalk up dwarves as a proud warrior race, and warlocks have pretty much got the blasts of magical energy cast at will down pat.

I played a grappler wizard, and I wound up making flash cards that said things like, "You are now being pinned! Roll an opposed grapple check using your base attack + strength mod + size bonus + whatever else."

I'm not exaggerating at all. If your character can't look in the rulebook to see which sword is better, why are they able to compare Weapon Focus to Power Attack? They can't look in the rulebook to see which is better.

Taking that idea to its full extent though, Elennsar, your character can't pick feats. You don't know which feats are better and which ones are worse. In fact, you don't even get to pick what class levels you'll take, because your character has never heard of classes. At a certain point you have to ...

Yep. Impossible. Right along with time travel. I mean, case in point our continued daily existence is proof that some tard hasn't jumped back in the distant past (Narcissist from the game Continuum?) to remodel the future. There are no 'time quakes'. There are no 'alternate realities'. The buddhist...

Page 177 of the PHB, under spell resistance, actually says it takes a standard action to lower it (ick). Is that changed somewhere?

Oh Morrowind...I still play it from time to time, just to remember what it's like to lose bits of my life without paying 15 bucks a month for the privilege. I'm with you guys on everyone being ugly, though. I found some great face packs for various races, and even a mod that distributed them on NPCs...

I never thought I'd say this RC, but I agree with you, provided the DCs for those skill checks remain static. One of my biggest beefs with 4th ed is that the whole "+1/2 level to everything" is meaningless in most cases because everything else is also adding half its level. But for this, i...

I've always thought about using point buy, but every time I mention it, my players complain because they like rolling dice, so they roll dice. I don't much care what method they use, to the point where I've said numerous times that it doesn't matter if they pull six numbers from 3-18 out of the air....

I'd never heard of this issue before, but I think I understand it. Player X says, "My character spent twenty years as a shopkeep, so he ought to get X experience and Y gold, rather than what he's supposed to have..." Supposed to is defined by the guidelines of the GM as much as anyone else...
