Magic swords are fine .I think it would be cool for the fighter to go to his "batcave" and select anti-demon sword for his weapon and a magical holy mace as a side-weapon cause those demons are known to summon scores of skeleton minions. And I think it is fine to drop magic weapons of diff...

Besides having different norms and values, Japanese have more of a "cute" culture then "sex" culture. Girls get a cutey-makeover in japan, while in the western parts of the world, girls get sexualized. In the West, the harry potter girls get bigger boobs on posters thanks to phot...

I was offering alternative solutions for people who want no-magic fighters. Personally, I like chi/magically enhanced/aura-manipulating fighters that use telekinesis to manipulate 12 swords to skewer his enemies and dive into burning magma to drag back a demon that was trying to escape. D&D is s...

What about adding some EX abilities to the fighter that is actually more weeboo-like, but explained using pseudo-science. For example, cutting buildings in half is explained by cutting so precisely and with such force that you create a Newton's Cradle effect that continues to cut the building using ...

metamagic feats break the balance further than spells? He means that they make spells even more broken. Although that's only really true if you min/max, most of the time metamagic isn't worth the increase in spell level. It is as you say. Although to do be more precise, the thing that breaks magic ...

The basic underlying math of 3.5 works (more so then 4th edition), BAB vs AC, Saves vs Spells, Damage vs Hit-points. (average survival is 3 rounds). Even iterative attacks do their trick (although more elegant solutions could be found for more weapon damage per round). However, it is also very fragi...

Didn't force effects had a DR 30/- rather then being completely damage immune? Was that an earlier version or something...different D20 fantasy game? forgot. If you could do 30 damage in a single hit, the force barrier would shatter.

In our campaigns, the fighter-types always gain awesome physical abilities ,depending on their level or skill ranks. A swordsman is about cutting stupid and silly things, so its progression is like: Cut Flesh -> Cut Wind (short-range attack) -> Cut Matter (thin walls, pillars)-> Cut Magic (dispel, o...

Its rather simple. When two beings clash in battle, and then step back to trade insults, it is really just a small time-out to gather their breath again. So in D&D world that would mean, insulting your foe for a round gains you a part of your hitpoints back. Which leads to longer battles...even ...

Ok, so the idea of threshold is nice to differentiate between small and wounds that count. Except implementation might be tricky in D&D 3.5 cause of the variance in damage numbers. This is actual less a problem for me, as our next campaign will have tighter numbers and ranges (yeah, we gonna gut...

I can kinda understand what they mean, by keeping the playing field levelled. But..this makes hitpoints even more abstract, so much so that they shouldnt be called hitpoints. Its worse. Threshold and hitpoints (SAGA, others?)

We house rule a lot in our D&D campaigns and one of the systems that get changed often is how we handle hitpoints and wounds. Hitpoints are an abstract number, and generally presents your ability to avoid hindering wounds. And until 0 or lower hitpoints ,you will suffer no adverse effects. Every...

I like how 'flexible" D&D 3x is. You can add any subsystem to it without breaking the whole game. New classes, new feats, different rules. You can adapt it easily to any playstyle or storyline. It allows a lot of tinkering both as a game, but also with your own characters. Character buildin...

The base system of D&D ,to which I mean the BAB ,saves, AC, attack and The Big 6 (bonusses from magical items) is actually fairly balanced and follows a certain logic. Iterative attacks are here an essential part for balance. It is even balanced with 1d6/level damage from wizards evocation spell...

You could base some effects, like moving yourself and/or your foe by 1 square on the effectiveness of your attack. For example, if you made a good roll in your threat range, you may move one for free. This does not require a seperate roll (although you will roll for critical confirmation), but rathe...

I think Psi is simply the mind-affecting type.

So if you have damage reduction psi , it means you are immune to mind-affecting abilities.

If you have Psi damage, you deal mind-affecting type of damage. (like empathic transfer).
