Paradox brings Vampire TTRPG Development in-house(ish)
Paradox has decided to part ways with Modiphus and do development for the tabletop Vampire: The Masquerade in-house under Justin Achilli and partnering with Renegade Game Studios. Sounds kind of like early D&D5e with a small in-house team and then farming stuff out to others for the grunt work. ...

Kingdoms of Amalur - What did you think of the system?
https://www.polygon.com/2020/6/4/21280297/kingdoms-of-amalur-remaster-release-date-re-reckoning-xbox-one-ps4-pc-price-leak Polygon is reporting Kingdoms of Amalur is getting a remaster, which reminded me how neat I thought the character system was. Rather than determining stats, then choosing a clas...

Stay at the Squalor Hotel and you're sheltered and fed. Stay at the House of Platinum Pleasures and you get, say, a bardic Inspiration die that la...

see I'd much rather see something simpler, like short/1-hand/heavy (with guidelines for how to categorize a specific weapon, i.e. (short weapons are one hand weapons under 3 lb and shorter than 24 inches for a Medium size humanoid) with static damage codes (A sword does 4 damage plus bonus damage ba...

Passive checks are skill+5 instead of skill+10 (to make it less likely that not-searching for a thing is better odds than searching for it). ASI/Feat split needs to go away. My favored solution is that Feats come whenever you get an ASI based on classes, Stat increases at 4, 8, 12, 16. Advantage/Dis...
