So now that this is actually out, has anyone looked over the mechanics yet? Trying to decide if I want to take a peek at the PDF or not.

It's a beautiful model - let D&D blaze a trail and fail. Then follow that trail and make sure you do it at least as well or better. They've decided not to be the innovator, just to emulate and 'improve'. A vast amount of the most successful companies in the world today employ this same strategy.
