I'll have to wait for the 4.5 update to hit the Chinese servers before I can try Feral Flare. They're usually behind by a few weeks to over a month. I tried Pantheon jungle a few levels ago based on previous recommendations in this thread but could barely get out of the jungle alive. Either I'm not ...

I'm only summoner level 23 right now, so no ranked games, but I've been having a lot of success with jungle Warwick. Had a great game last night where we were facing an Evelynn so I started with 2 pots and a pink. Put the pink down in the baron river bush, where it lasted for more than half the game...

I propose K moves to Prague. Anyone else want to come? If people are moving, they should move here to Guangzhou. Low-cost of living, good internet infrastructure, plentiful artists you can hire for cheap, and you can make $30-$100/hour tutoring English to rich kids. Drawbacks include pollu...

Daiba, that doesn't work because you will have Denners violently argue about the most minute parts of design architecture and it will ultimately go nowhere. See: TNE, Dead Man's Hand, Cyberpunk Fantasy Heartbreaker, Fantasy Kitchen Sink, etc, etc. The only way a system gets done on the Den is if on...

You need enough money for a print run. You also need enough money to kepp 6 people in hooch, hookers and blow until it's done writing. Those people might also want to eat, and have a place to live. 6x$60,000 (one year) + art budget + printing/distribution costs would be pretty tough. I was thinking...

You really need a team of like six people who all are on the same page as regards power progressions, game terms, and design sensibilities. Anything less than that and you'll get bogged down before you even get to the Ls like Lightning Bolt and Lamia. -Username17 How much would this cost? I'm sure ...

I've bolded the important part you apparently missed.. Ah, I see. For future reference, 'later' is not the same as 'latter'. The former indicates position in time, the latter indicates position in time or position in a sentence. It is probably a good idea to check for spelling errors of this nature...

They pretty much had the radiation thing licked by the time you got to the 50's So, basically, you admit that the statements you made in your previous post: No, not in 1952. I'm pretty much aware of the evolution of understanding of radiation and contanimation dangers in the 20th century and on the...

No, not in 1952. Uh, no. The dangers of of large doses of radiation were very clear by 1952. Then, as now, most of the data came from studies of atomic bomb survivors from Japan. It was pretty well known that 600-800 rem of total body irradiation would lead you to a gruesome death. The per-worker l...

Crowne bags are also great for dice, as are fancy Corsair power supply bags. I never figured out why they gave you a separate bag for something that will be installed and charged up with electricity 99.99% of the time.

It's mostly an issue of police officers being given illegal orders and then following them . This is the reason that eliminating the social safety net is critical to the formation of a police state. It really changes the equation if disobeying wrongful orders means your kids will starve. Putting up...

They eliminated one potential source of systematic error, but I guess that's not glamorous enough as a headline. Don't get me wrong, it's a totally cool finding, but I'm hesitant to hope that New Physics has been discovered. 60 ns is a really small deviation and it will probably be some time before ...

I don't expect the fan boy sheep of the world to agree with me on the failure of Skyrim. I loved the hell out of Morrowind, but I believe you. I think consolitis has done huge amounts of damage. My Massachusetts car insurance costs $350/year, but that only covers liability; comp is another $300/year. So it's entirely possible to have dirt cheap car insurance stateside, as long as your vehicle is worth so little that you don't care about insuring damage.

Observation, in the quantum mechanical sense, doesn't require consciousness or thought. Yeah, the observer referred to is any system that can't occupy a linear combination of distinct states. The measurement happens when the quantum mechanical system interacts with this macroscopic system. Tzor, ar...

Quantum Mechanics salvages non-determinism in several interpretations. I'm a bit out of date, but I'm pretty sure that non-local hidden variables have yet to be ruled out, so the universe could operate deterministically. The statistical interpretation is still the most popular at the moment, however.

Kaelik is right. A number of arguments, First Cause included, use the following scheme: 1)Define god as something trivial. 2)Prove the existence of this trivial god. 3)Assert the existence of a non-trivial god. 4)Plug ears and laugh at the atheists! It's too bad that having a trivial definition of g...

So: huge capital outflights from the country and a simultaneous bank run on every financial institution. Given current trends, at some point this is going to happen anyway. I wonder if it would be better to go through this process earlier than later, before permanent damage to economic capacity set...

It's a little easier to invest in infrastructure with what China's labour cost. Wages in China are depressed, but not as much as people think and mostly due to the ridiculous exchange rate. As someone who currently lives and works in China, I can attest to the fact that the "free market" aspects of the Chinese economy are greatly exaggerated. While only a small number of companies are still directly owned by the government, there is no law preventing these companies from inve...
