I just realized Fallout 76 is going to be Fallout: Minecraft Edition.

...Fuck you, Bethesda.

I picked this up at release and have spent a shockingly small amount of time with it. I just don't think I'm the intended audience. I get really pissed off at not being able to continue attacking because of the weapon's sharpness draining, then my attacks bouncing off - though, in fairness, I have b...

So after the death of the cryohydra, the players are free to descend through the fissure, which leads to a path that gradually descends 100ft over the course of a quarter mile. Which... is about as 'Underdark' as a bomb shelter. As they wander through, there's random encounters oh joy. Every hour th...

Yeah no, that was all me, mea culpa. So few people ever play Bards that I was completely unaware of that line in glibness.

Hnh. Okay, I'll excise that bit. But still, there's nothing written for the case of zone of truth both beating his Will save and overcoming the (DC22) on a 1d20+6-7. That's still inexcusable.

Continuing on, after the fiendish umber hulk is put down, the city watch swarms and locks down the area like a modern police force. And I do mean exactly like a modern police force; they take a statement from the PCs, thanks them, and tells them a representative of the mayor's office will be in touc...

I never really got the draw of WoD Mortals games, much less Hunter games. Were they really just trying to match every book to every location for every line back then?

It's been nearly 2 years since I started this review. And guess what? I'm coming back to it, because I'm being forced to play Shadowrun 5E AND Pathfinder if I want any games, so I have some fucking vitriol to unleash. So, here we fucking go, right back here to Paizo's very first Adventure Path, Shac...

So, this game, In Verbis Virtus , apparently came out in 2014 but I didn't see it until just now. It's... a very interesting idea for a game. It's a first-person puzzle platformer in which you activate spells by holding down the left mouse button and speaking the words to it. The story is barebones ...

I love these collaborations. My girl has the P5BestGirl outfit (Futaba Sakura) and it's glorious.

PSO2 is so awesome it is coming to the Switch next year! Only for Japan though. Because Sega hates money or something and thus refuses to release the game in the west. They did translate the game to english but only for South Asia then closed it after just a few years, wonder what went wrong there....

I've been playing some Genesis RPGs for the first time. Phantasy Star 2 hates me, there's no other explanation for it. Unless it's Phantasy Star 4, all the Phantasy Star Genesis games hate you. The difficulty curve is ludicrous and kind of beautiful in its zero-fucks-given attitude. Phantasy Star 3...

I could provide a list of mods I have functioning on a BGT (using Original BG1/TotSC/BG2/TOB discs + patches) install, as I've gone for a by-hand megamod install since BWS refuses to work for me, but I don't recommend the experience. I spent 6 days uninstalling/reinstalling and playing through until...

So, I'm giving Tyranny a try. Yeah, I'm late to the party on this one, but I've been craving a new cRPG lately and decided to try this. And... what the actual fuck is this game. Okay, it's less stupid than Pillars of Eternity by a smidge, if only because they include alt-text over different-colored ...

Why is it that systems with specialty dice are always mechanically stupid? Is it because they feel they have to have gimmick dice to stand out in today's RPG market and thus have to shoehorn them into their system somehow?

This is something which Shadowrun has explicitly resisted, and is one of the hallmarks of the setting - partially out of munchkin concerns, but also because of the specific setting metaphysics about how magic works. In a way, the limitations of Shadowrun's magic system - which explicitly prohibits ...

Not necessarily teleportation, but if for example anyone could use magic weapons or slap runes on an item to improve it's capabilities, that would seem better. This is something which Shadowrun has explicitly resisted, and is one of the hallmarks of the setting - partially out of munchkin concerns,...

I definitely see what you mean, I didn't see the point of having me do two sets of five missions that took 12 hours, also research for artifact power and class hall upgrades seem glacially slow to me.
