The newer editions of D&D are not broken. but they are excedingly more complex.
Oh great joy within the first few posts we get the dreaded, "Why do old people in D&D see & hear better?"
Force all mankind to work together in the face of an implaccable foe. World peace and understanding with only 500 million dead.
Since they will be enemies, at no point in the campaign will the characters be in the same room.
Also a lot of D&D text plays out a lot like a story, and I'm just automatically more interested in stories about women.
