No, they should NOT replace them with the Phoenix-Designs.
The Phoenix-Designs are, for the most part, fugly as all hell.
And in the Fluff, they appear about 50 years after the time the game is supposed to be set in.

There IS no good solution in this situation. Change it, and you lose a part of your established player base. Don't change it, and you probably won't gain a new player base. And getting up to Speed is time and money intensive in all cases. You wanna go for WH40K from 0 to playable Army? 500 Bucks. It...

A Time of War is one of the few RPG's where you have a good chance of coming out of chargen with a seriously gimped character by way of losing eyes, ears, fingers, toes, hands, feet, legs or arms . . Also, the main Problem is, that Battletech is played with 2d6. And the RPG had as it's target to be ...

Well, judging from me and my buddies, we'd pay 15-20€ per unseen model we can get . . And most of us don't like the newer machines either . .

(whose idea was it to stock the intro box with the ugliest designs from the past?)
If they had been able to do boxes with the complete unseen set of Machines, they would not have been able to make enough boxes to meet demand i guess . .

Actually, it's 3015, not even 3025.
And no, i did not play. But 2 or maybe even 3 of my Buddies did.
I just watched and went and bought and brought stuff for them.
Alcohol and cigarretes mostly ^^

:hmph: Not as crazy a thought as you'd hope. Structurally speaking, the Battletech freelancers are doing everything in their power to sink the line and destroy Battletech outright. Which isn't a lot, but then they are just freelance creative staff and they don't have a lot of power. *snip* Indeed, ...

Well . . wonder if it's a Two for one deal . . do you have to take the Battletech License with the Shadowrun License or the other way around? No. No you do not. -Username17 Then for fucks sake, let CGL die and give each license to another company so nobody can EVER AGAIN say one had some ill effect...

Well, i've just come back from Nordcon and talked to one of the german shadowrun officials. I will try and talk to him some more via email and the such. The communication between america and germany has, accroding to him, been better than any before in the last half year or so . . Also, the person i...

Another Question: Anybody know what the legal status of some of the ex-freelaners quitting at CGL and maybe getting a Job at . . say . . maye pegasus spiele who does shadowrun in germany? O.o I mean, the stuff has to be translated anyway, this would just be cutting out the middleman . . and if the ...

Thank you for clearing that up. I've often stated that I don't want to drag private relationships with freelancers out into the open; I also, however, do not want to regularly be accused of lying, or for it to be said that I removed Bobby from the freelancer forums because he told the truth or any ...

However, whilst those in the know are probably on AH's side or at the very least warmly sympathetic, I don't know how much influence threads on DS have in the grand scheme of things. I think the real big mistake on JH's side is a much simpler one: Losing AH's work. AH is good, he's (very) productiv...

I do know that CGL isn't in the habit of revealing metaplots to people without NDAs. Wrong. NDAs only became regular practice about a year and a half ago, approximately the time I started writing with the Missions team. It was only after Frank dropped the bomb, the mass resignations became news, an...

Well, lookie here . . "name='JM Hardy' date='Jun 1 2010, 02:28 PM' post='936435'" Let me just jump in here to say that the speculation about Spy Games is off base. Frank heard about one possible plot element, and somehow decided that was the only plot element the book was going to have. Th...

Can we cut the thread drift bullshit? I concur with this notion. A discussion on gender roles in a thread that is already cluttered with hyperbole and misinformation will only throw off the signal-to-noise ratio even further. *snips pic* http://rlv.zcache.com/its_a_trick_get_an_axe_sticker-p2174953...
