I have some questions: (1) If a possession spirit inhabits something like a vehicle, does the possessed vehicle now ignore gravity the way materialization spirits do? If a spirit of air gets stuffed into a car, is it now a flying car? (2) Is there a gather info skill? Data search + Browse gets menti...

RelentlessImp, I believe I now have 5 players for Friday night. I'm sorry that time no longer works for you. Hopefully, you found that 3.Tome game you were looking for on GitP. I know of a couple players who wanted to do Saturday. I could put you in touch with them, if that would be helpful? I don't...

mmmmm. Thanks for the heads up. Yesterday, I met 3 other players who are very interested, (well 4, but that guy can't do Fridays and also wants to game in person) but I haven't gotten an ironclad commitment from them yet, although one guy was excited enough that he planned to go buy the core ruleboo...

Hi RelentlessImp, I've found another player to add to the game. He's definitely in, and he also thinks that he might be able to bring in one or two more people with him. Tomorrow I'm going to meet some other gamers IRL and try to pitch them on the campaign. So hopefully this game will have wings soo...

Scum and Villainy has gear modification rules in it that allow so many incredible and interesting creations that it makes the entire game worth it. It makes you re-open every book and re-inspect every piece of equipment because anything might be a piece of the puzzle for the new thing you are creat...

Ah, yes. The equipment I'm talking about is not from the books that you mentioned. And RAW, equipment doesn't always provide an equipment bonus, sadly. Sometimes it's circumstance bonus or some bullshit kind of bonus and they can get into double digits even before stacking. Yeah there are other forc...

Oh yeah, no question those 60k are totally yours to play with. As Phonelobster pointed out I was not reading that FAQ response correctly. I guess I'll let the PC's bring their personal gear with them on assignment [edit: oh I see what you are saying about black ops... that makes does make sense.]. C...

It's not just that I only play for the benjamins. When I actually play in a game I form relationships and goals within the game world just like everyone else, and that is often some of the most rewarding parts of the game. However removing gear, ship modification, droids, and force powers from a St...

It's not what I suggest, nor is it a house rule of any kind. It is an official clarification by the actual game developers that at least half of that wealth is non-liquid [and no, real estate property is NOT a liquid asset] or intangible (as in favors and allies). Part of your responsibility in Apar...

No that's not quite right. I have the FAQ saved to computer. Lemme see if I can attach it to this post... nope have to use a link instead: http://www.mediafire.com/download/gfe58l6ea816fpo/Official+FAQ+%26+Errata+Compilation+Thread.pdf Basically at least half of that amount is supposed to be in tota...

Star Wars Saga Edition - Imperial Espionage Recruitment
Hi, Denners (Denizens?). I get the impression there aren't a whole lot of Star Wars Saga Edition fans over here, but I love this message board, so I'll give this a shot and try recruiting here anyway. I am looking for 4 to 5 players for a Star Wars Saga Edition campaign set during, or near, the time...

Munchkinism and min/maxing were always around (if those are even still terms), but they weren't the norm. I'm just looking for something that doesn't pander to that mindset, if such a thing exists. As other have suggested - what you actually seem to want is a time machine. Because your problem is t...

Favorite Deities
I'm trying to cobble together a (3.5) homebrew setting and I'm pondering what deities it should feature. I find the PHB deities to be a reasonable baseline for what a god of each alignment might be like, but (aside from Vecna) they don't thrill me. Are there any deities you guys have really liked th...

Aside from Recharge, I'd say the Element Wall spells (from Street Magic), because they are sustained elemental AoE's. Electricity or Fire would be an obvious choice for energy creation. Shape material spells are neat, but aren't they kinda slow moving? Net hits in meters per turn for material that i...

I strongly disagree with all of that. Astral Chameleon is useless. It doesn't make sustained spells any less visible, nor does it make spellcasting any more subtle. It just halves the amount of time your signatures linger, which seriously does not matter because they still last for fucking hours. So...

More questions: If everything is priced in BP, how much does it cost to raise a magic attribute beyond 6 (recall that magic is technically an uncapped attribute)? 10 BP per point is insanely low. 25 BP per point >5 is insanely high. When I GM'd SR4a, what I did was priced Initiating at 25 BP, and ea...

Yeah, I'm really glad Frank fixed the way remote services worked. The original core rules for that were batshit crazy. Anway, with that loophole closed - generally, the super-random nature of summoning drain will eventually screw of people who are overly-reliant on summoning. On average, summoning d...

In all the recent back-and-forth, I'm not sure what house rules are in effect. You seem to be having trouble with spell selection. Here's some suggestions.: A mage needs to be able to buff their drain attributes. this is because Shadowrun mages cast (and summon) from Hit Points. So having a really b...
