I thought those games were based on his books. I remember reviewing them ages ago; the PC games came with an interview with him. He came across as so gawdawfully full of himself that I couldn't even stand to play the games.

Please Understand Me II

It's a big love-in for the Myers-Briggs personality test...thing reads like astrology, however. It's been a while since I read the I Ching, but tempted to go back and see if there's that much difference.

Oh c'mon, if you're doing the thieve's guild, the skeleton key isn't all that good for you (doesn't it prevent you gaining locksmith skill?); if you're in the guild, you can buy all the picks you want and should get the hang of lockpicking anyway. There is a randomized quest system; it's most notice...

I didn't think it was even theoretically possible to play AD&D raw. Hasn't someone somewhere sat down and compiled a list of the rules contradictions/inanities that pretty much force you to houserule about a second before rolling initiative? I know somewhere there's an example of exactly what a ...

Yeah, can't hardly wait for XCOM again; I played the Borderlands 2 demo, was pretty smooth (alas, had to play on a PS3 controller, so could hardly do any better than the booth babe).

I'll go for incompetence. My new employee orientation course lasted two weeks . Never underestimate administrative incompetence. We're hiring two faculty in my department over the summer, and, wanting to have some influence over who I'd be working with, I ask to be on the selection committee (even ...

Weird, I found sagecrafting/smithing pretty disappointing. I suppose I might have been able to make something better than what I could find/buy, but even on hard the game was a walkthrough, and there was never an ability that I thought I really needed but couldn't just buy. I had well over a million...

Ditto here...you didn't achieve balance by "rocks fall" on the weaker classes. You achieved balance by giving a "+5 axe of uber resistance" or the like to the weaker classes.

And the inches notation didn't just mean inches. Underground, 1" was 10 feet, above ground, it was 10 yards.

Even the Paladin's Protection from Evil was 1", not 10 foot, radius.

IMO the BaneGuard shoulda been called the War-warrior....then maybe it would have been more obvious as a parody.

When something has so little you can take seriously, apparently you need to put extra effort into anything you say about it that you intend to be a joke.
