Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both, Continued
Speaking of armored bears, what with the Golden Compass movie coming out and all, what CR do we think the Panzerbjorne should have?

Re: Pokemasters
I think it makes it sort of interesting. Everyone has become _so dependent_...the PCs are the only ones who can actually do things for themselves anymore.
I don't remember it being that bad in Red/Blue.

Re: Worst. DMs. Ever.
I learned pretty well over the ages that DMPCs are bad. That said, they can have a use or two...like in the first adventure for my new group, we were down a player...enter the DMPC! He was black; he spent a feat and all his skill points in being black. Meaning, he died at some point in the adventure...

Re: Problem with a couple of RoW barbs w/ Adamantine Armour
I've been under the impression that damage reduction doesn't stack, and you're supposed to just use the highest source that applies. Am I incorrect here?

Re: "Tome game" starting, have a couple of issues.
Ah, I see. And of course, if you have -two- (or more) monsters, it's not really a help at all in that instance.

"Tome game" starting, have a couple of issues.
Hey all,[br][br]I'm going to be running a game soon, and I essentially said to all of my players "if anyone want to play a melee character, use something from Dungeonomicon or Races of War instead of the trash in the SRD" and told them to use anything they felt like out of the rest of the ...

Re: Improved Explosions [Metamagic]
Yeah, save or dies do a lot of damage, on a failed save. Spells like magic missile don't allow a save though, and your feat doesn't differentiate at all between spells that do or don't (or even their level).

Re: Proffession - what's yours'?
I keep hopping back and forth between physics and computer science here in college. I really wish my school offered some electrical engineering, but alas. Maybe I could do a master's program in that, but I really don't want to do any graduate school.

Re: Improved Explosions [Metamagic]
At any rate, I like it, except... why the bit about removing other metamagic?
Otherwise you could tap most things with two magic missiles (one quickened, one normal) and have it immediately die with no save.

Re: Pokemon SAME
Though you're unwilling to change the central mechanics (type chart), I want to reply to some of the things you said anyway because I think they are just a slight bit misinformed.[br][br]re 1:[br]Steel being a shit type to have STAB on has always been something of a myth (it's not a bad attacking ty...

Re: Pokemon SAME
In the interest of balance, I would suggest modfiying the type chart a wee bit. Namely, make Poison hit SE on Water, and make Rock hit neutral on Ice.[br][br]This fixes two somewhat important issues, namely that Poison is an absolutely shitty attacking type and Water is an absolutely godly defensive...

Re: The New Harry Potter Book
I greatly enjoyed the last Harry Potter book, and thought it was one of the best in the series. Thus, I really want to respond to some things said here. Lots of quotes and replies, I hope the spoiler tag doesn't make it look awful.[br] [br] # First is the Plotdevicium Wand. It's wielder cannot be de...
