Flatline, I think you should re-think your position. There is nothing inherently bad in having attacks that are named (fluff); There is nothing inherently bad in having a series of options which have special effects; There is nothing inherently bad in having your options on a series of cards in fron...

Rifts isn't known for having their rules in any recognizable order, why do you expect their pictures to be, as well? There's power armor for a centaur in the Atlantis book. The only mention of centaurs in the Atlantis book is under the list of races for slaves: They die in slavery, and consequently ...

The value of having Paizo continuing to produce the material would be the system they'd created to create the material.

By canceling the license, they also canceled any expertise gained and had to build it entirely over again.

It was a really stupid move.

WBL should be a range of expectations for the PCs. But created PCs should be below average of that range: Because they didn't have the chance to blow the dragon's horde. But organic PC's probably should have a level where you know you're above the curve and bathing in Loth's pools might be one of th...

Maybe.

Ganbare, the WoF abilities aren't all the options a player has - just the big ones they might want to spam. You still have at least five basic options of assault, barrage, retreat, or standard attack/defend. Along with whatever sets of WoF abilities or magic items you have.

All my games are in summer recess. But my friends are getting into Pathfinder. Ugh. I can deal with some of their (Paizo) ideas coming into my games. I don't want to deal with their weird combat stuff, though. It doesn't make the game better. And as long as people defend Pathfinder beyond reason (as...

If they don't play it anymore, then they don't bring it to the store, and they don't suggest I play it with them. And I do like sake. Though soju is better. It's not that there aren't differences in tastes - it's that Paizo's product has demonstrable faults which make games end in screaming matches....

Also, when you go down to the local watering hole to drink brewskis or hang out with your buddies - you can't drink what isn't there to be drunk. If the bartender doesn't know what Skyy malted is, or your buddy who was picked to bring the brew likes Tequiza and got a case for you to share... You're ...

I think defining the level appropriateness of results as primary to actually writing the abilities of the classes. You can't fill in the number if you don't know whether the trade-offs are more appropriate.

And it should make it more clear whether Fighter or Mage are balanced.

I don't want save retries - I want a saving throw pass or result bumped up a notch. Nothing is worse than using your once-an-encounter or story ability and getting bupkis.

Zinegata, go read this post , please. Also, if I don't want to play Pathfinder because it is crappy, then it is actively reducing the people I can play D&D with as some people become invested in the system. Just because you don't think I or K are looking for a game doesn't mean you are correct. ...

Disney would (or should) license their characters to Dreamworks for productions they didn't plan on creating - say, a TV series version of a movie or game or whatnot. This happens often in game licensing because the gross of say Final Fantasy Tactics is smaller than the next Final Fantasy game. -Cri...

Actually, that some people play a shitty version of the game you play does affect you. Because this is a social game. Which requires more than one person. When I (or K) goes off looking for a game, he will get responses which include 'want to play a shitty game?' and 'how about Pathfinder?' Which ar...

Why don't they just commission artists at the same time as writers, and put them in the same meeting? Artists can say, 'this would look cool' and understand some of what was being slung about, then make whatever while the text is being written. Then you'd have both available at the same time. And th...

I don't think Zinegata understands the words 'affect' and 'effect'. I know it's not his first language, but... He's an asshole. And he's wrong.

Mostly he's wrong by asserting there is an objective reality that is the same as his subjective reading.

Yes. Hence not mentioning it in my first reply.
