Presidents have a term limit and people don't keep heir heads down and wait for the president to go away in 8 years tops. I'm from Australia, but yeah, pretty much they do. I mean, to an extent no, but I have had meetings with this as a direct quote: "Yeah, we don't want to do that as we'll ju...

It's a really big problem, partly offset by the fact that the average government minister is smart and works really hard. But read the Australian National Audit Office report about the green loans scheme to see how an inexperienced minister (Peter Garrett) can be fucked by his Department, and he rea...

Being a government minister is a real job that is very difficult, and is often thrust on people after a completely unrelated career up to that point. You have a massive and difficult to manage bureaucracy that reports to you, and they know they will still be there long after you are politically dead...

If we can get a sub from outside the game I'd prefer that. If the choice is sub within the game or AI, then I'd prefer a sub from within the game.

Infrastructure improvement projects, housing projects for the poor. Outreach programs, Aid programs. There's literally a ton of stuff you could do with them. And I'm not sure that 1 year's worth of McDonalds employment taxes is really going to make a huge difference on the National Budget. 1 Year i...

1 year civil service is the worst fucking idea ever. It's better to stuff them into the employment market so they can pay taxes, ESPECIALLY if they are university graduates. 1 year isn't enough time to skill someone up enough to do anything in a specialist economy, so what the fuck are you going to ...

Damn right. There's a 'conspiracy crowd' in the breakroom when I first get to work each, and one of them told me that Mubarak leaving Egypt was a bad thing because now "The Muslim Brotherhood will take over". To be fair, this is a non zero possibility, unlike, say, Obama being a Muslim wh...

Why? I'm not frank, I don't carry grudges between games. Sometimes you have to set people on fire, sometimes it's great to be chummy. I'm in a game with Korwin where he is playing his third team in the game, and during that time he's gone from 'I don't even care where he is on the map' to 'Ally' to ...

The voters need means to be able to hold their congressmen accountable, declaring some one disloyal to their ideals may have little effect in the short term but may have a significant one in an election year. There is a lot of information that the average person isn't privy to that can make a legis...

It's interesting that the narrative of the PATRIOT Act vote paints it as a triumph of the Tea Party. If the Tea Party was sincere, and they where creating a narrative, wouldn't they be furious that so many of their members voted for one of the most repressive pieces of legislation ever? In the syst...

Also, the funniest part about it is that most US corporations force contract provisions that require submitting to binding arbitration with their own appointed arbitrators. It's like Rayethoen law taking over - and as they get to apoint the judge, I suspect it's not very fair.

It's pretty funny.

I'm sure some would call me 'racist', but learn one of the fucking languages of Canada if you're gonna move here. Even broken English is better than nothing. Any chance I could get a one timr 24 hour extension? I am not very well and this is going to be tough.

Edit: I've half assed some shit up, but I'd still appreciate that extension.
