[nWoD] Blood & Smoke aka V:tR2.0

Apparently not a campaign, but a full-blown overhaul of V:tR in crunch and fluff. Not that OPP made it clear in their annoucements, for whatever reasons. No KS for this was a surprise too.

Now, as I've mentioned Here , I think Western Demons are an almost uniquely shitty starting point for an RPG. While they have a lot of recognizable cache in Western society and instant cultural recognizability, they also create expectations that are corrosive to the table top experience. Do I think...

Exactly. And that's why I asked if you would consider D:tD to be nice/ decent if it would been made by an enterily different company (you know, Pelgrane Press, Paizo, WotC, whoever, but not OPP and not WW) and rule set (not cWoD, not nWoD...) - got it? :D

Re: [nWoD] Demon: the Descent

What do you think? Now, I'm not sure what audience the "Supernatural gang warfare game #9" that is Demon: the Descent is supposed to capture. Except for hardcore WW brandslaves, which are not a numerous breed. For fuck's sake, "You've escaped an eldrich abomination you could never ho...

Another company doing the Demon: the Descent-setting with a different ruleset would be cool then? It is being done by "another company" with "another ruleset." There's no setting. There's no rules. There's no cool ideas. There's no anything. Demon: the Descent is just cobbled to...

I got so sick of the micro-managing part of Shadowrun and D&D, I dropped gold/nuyen counts from both games I run. Players pick/earn a lifestyle, normal gear is assumed to be simply available, special gear is individually approved by the GM. Less of a headache on all fronts. Of course it only wo...

I do not think it is impossible to make a fun game where "stop being the sort of person the game is about because it sucks" is the basic premise. There's a lot of good drama to be had from recovering from and overcoming horrible trauma, and the end result is usually that my character has ...

Opinions on Changeling: the Lost?

A friend of mine plans to start a C:tL game soon. Before I decide if I join or not, I'd like to hear opinions by people who actually played in a game or can provide a solid review of the setting, theme, and core book.

White Wolf doesn't print things anymore. There are still pdfs made up of things in White Wolf properties from time to time, and you can still buy them or get those pdfs printed on demand, but the company doesn't make physical products anymore. Hasn't since people took Rick Perry seriously as a cand...

Basically, Limited Editions are almost always printed early and contain whatever typographical errors the original printing had by default. That goes without saying (did you understand that, Stahlseele? :bash: ). But apparently someone in Catalyst land said that a bunch of errors being in the limit...

Has it ever been different? Do you know a LE of any game system that wasn't based on the first printing? :disgusted:

I wouldn't say that Bull and the freelancers don't care about the game (hell, some of 'em may even know the setting's backstory and history)... they're just terrible game designers.

Bull at dumpshock.com: *IF* social situations or driving tests regularly took 25-50% of actual gameplay time, I would agree. But they do not. Even an intense social scene is mostly roleplaying and any character can participate in those regardless of his skills or attributes or cyebrware, because it'...
