Two quick questions about the Book of Gears magic items...

Does the +1/3 bonus to Ability scores apply to just one ability score or all ability scores? Same question in regards to the saving throws items.

Good for you. I don't agree however. Especially when it comes to Infernals. I think, as they are now, they fit the setting less than the Autobots.

In Exalted, no faction was supposed to stand for anything on a diametrical good-evil axis. In fact, the setting was to be morally ambiguous. The game's developer once succinctly summarized the game premise as "great people doing stupid things with great competence". The moment the Abyssals...

Princess, Abyssals as they stand are not appropriate for Exalted. In a game trying to replicate the heroism of the Illiad, having an unambiguous evil faction is counter-intuitive.

Post the Tome Fighter to the Homebrew forum and see what happens.

2E seriously pisses on any player who doesn't want to play a Solar or someone who worships the ground they walk on and RotSE continues that trend. 1E was a lot more friendly to more player character types.

From the reports leaking out of WotC, it seems like the design team has been self-destructing between the camp that has realized that 4e is a pretty bad system for fantasy RPG and they want to mix it up by adding new mechanics, and the camp that thinks that 4e needs to cleave to their original desi...

If the game's fun, the desire to feel like a special snowflake can go to hell for all I care.

I think it's less pwned or owned but rather summarily dismissed as having accomplished nothing and the fact that the demon prince behind everything can start the cycle whenever he feels like, it's rather true.

Once, in 3E, I played a 15th level half-giant fighter and fought sixteen yuan-ti halfbloods. Each exploded in one hit. Good times. Which reminds me of the time I played a thri-kreen dart specialist in 2E and I slaughtered twenty ogre mages. Which reminds me of the time I played a high-level paladin ...

I am currently eying the Feral Cities, Seattle 2072, and Vice sourcebooks and would like to know if they are worth buying. If not, are there any other SR books (perhaps for older editions) that are like Runner Havens (found it very useful for gaming) I should grab?

It makes sense if you plan on playing in the same instance of the campaign world multiple times.

Unfortunately, the closest thing I've seen to addressing such a concept were the various victory points systems in some of the Pathfinder APs.

It's not entirely true that there are no decent sentient beings in the Exalted-verse. The problem is... there's only 3 (Demetheus, Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea, and Stern Whip of Industry).

I'm thinking about starting up a 3E campaign again but I'd like to keep the house rules to a minimum this time around, no more than 5. What are the really necessary additions introduced by the Tomes that I should definitely include?
