4th Fvckup? Makes sense, considering it'll be related to D&D Myspace.

Re: Things that are NOT FUN

Character neutering can be just as bad as losing control of your character. If all my character can do is cast spells, and I've made it clear that casting spells is the mechanical part of the game that I enjoy most, then an adventure where I arbitrarily can't cast spells is Not Fun. [br][br]I think ...

Re: A Quintessential Review

That is, as usual, consequence of the fact that WotC writers should take a basic logic course, and stems from the fact the scorching ray's attack form is technically "ray" and rules for spell attacks (such as the feat in Complete Arcane I believe is called Spell Specialization) treat "...

WotC board threads are usually entertaining. Here's someone's idea of a "powerful" monster.

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both

We stand for the Cult, the Canny and the Scrutable! Perhaps I should've read Eric and the Dread Gazebo with more attention then, since those 3 don't mean much to me. Also, I forgot to add that my impression of those boards is quite bad. Since you say you like(d) it, where did you use to find the go...

Shadowrun: The Utopia

Anyone have any wild, moon-eyed plans for completely breaking the back of the corporate oligarchy and restoring real, honest-to-god egalitarian democracy to this world?

The heroes don't have to be white hats the entire time. I'm willing to accept a 'nukes now, peace later' plan.

Re: LARPing (Epoch) and how to break it. (Notes)

My LARP experience so far has been that all STs are issued Handwavium Sticks and Plotdevicium Armor as standard equipment. Are you sure that you will be allowed to minmax? Or will they just say "whatever" and then screw your character because your pre-approved actions "don't fit the s...

Re: Warhammer 40k

From what I had heard around when they were introduced, Tau were actually GW's attempt at breaking into the Japanese market (hence the anime look, with mini-mechs and the body armour, and the group-oriented dynamic). But IMO, it was a quite clumsy attempt. And they essentially made Eldar-lite (as wa...

I'd like to start fleshing out this idea, but can't decide on a genre or setting to use. Suggestions?

Also, do you think this would be better as a variant of SAME or a standalone system?

Re: Soldier Problem, Part 3

Sure, if you're expecting free money to be free money, it will feel like being cheated. But the players would know, going in, thats how we roll. We'll change XP to PP (plot points) and explain that they represent ANYTHING that gives a character an advantage, including wealth and equipment.[br][br]Le...

Re: Tome of Extremes?

well yeah, vile stuff is incredibly easy to write, and I've written stories that could qualify(at least as far as BoVD is concerned) as both pissed off revenge-motivated mental gratification and as one-part personal fantasy one-part character story. It's the philososphy and the consequences of Exalt...

Being me the guy who asked K, Frank, I have to say that Prak pretty much explained me: I do know writing the "baddest thing ever" is ridiculously easy. I wasn't interested in, say, the most terrible rape account ever (and I could pull off worse than yours right now - you could too, of cour...

Re: Tome of Extremes?

so how about we focus on the philosophy rather than the actions? actions would probably need to be discussed at some point, but they can be downplayed in favour of why someone chooses to be exalted or vile and what that means.
