But correct me if I'm wrong, the outside temperature has an effect on radiation as well. Nope. Three factors: the radiating body's temperature, the radiating body's surface area, and the tendency of the radiating body to radiate. Technically, the outside temperature has an effect on radiative heat ...

I recently found a paper by David Deutsch & Patrick Hayden about information flow in quantum entanglement, which indicates that Bell's Theorem doesn't actually hold - which means that you *could* have both causality and locality, which would prevent FTL entanglement communicators. Unless there's...

The bolding is mine. You just said that a self exists in your explanation as to why the self does not exist. Don't confuse continuity of physical existence with continuity of consciousness/conceptual self. It's not even "continuity" of physical existence, which I don't actually consider t...

That literally every person I can communicate confirms it according to their own perceptions? Why, yes. That seems like pretty hefty evidence to me. Do you perceive yourself as being the same creature now as you were before? Do you know anyone who doesn't? Do you have any reason I shouldn't believe...

Ok, here is a thought experiment: you have a twin who has all of your memories. Is he you? He is slightly less me than I am, but significantly more me than any other human than us. All this "is it you" stuff is reminiscent of the Sorites Paradox more than anything. And all the *other* pro...

I went as Locke from FF6 last year, still debating what to do this year. Thinking about dressing up as Gendo Ikari, presuming I can get the "has facial hair" thing down. Also need to actually watch Evangelion sans WH40K.

Given that playing Abysia has become an exercise in "buy some troops, pool my earth gems", and shows no sign of changing for the remainder of the game, I'm going to set it to AI. Turn 75 is sent in, to settle final accounts, and then Abysia will be fully AI-ified.

There's already a setting - pretty popular around here - where ordinary (teenage) humans capture and enslave superpowerful magical beings using common technological devices, you might be able to draw some further inspiration from it. :awesome:

If the damage is nonlethal, it doesn't have <=0 hit points. It has nonlethal damage equal to or greater than its hit points.

Fair enough. I figured as much (though I keep kind of wishing they were summoned, for Augment Summons), and it means that a Staff of Steal Summons, like my friend suggested, is rather pointless. You couldn't do that anyway, since Augment Summoning specifies summoning spells , and Control Pokemon is...

Pokéballs and Pokémon: When a Pokémon is caught with a Pokéball (see Craft Pokéball below) it is shrunk down and placed in stasis like with Gloves of Storing. While in a Pokéball, Pokémon do not need to eat, sleep, breathe, etc. A Pokémon can be returned to its Pokéball or removed from its Pokéball...
