Ninja Core Class for Review (High-ish Fantasy)
I would love to hear any feedback for this class. Since the Frank/K ninja class is a little ways off, and i'm joining a 1st level campaign in the near future, I figure i'd build the ninja I always envisioned. A combat oriented, minor magic user, sorta rogue, mostly spy.[br][br]I won't deny that it's...

Re: Feats
Sounds good to me. Some actual class features besides "qualify for better classes" would be a move in the right direction regardless of where it comes from.[br][br]I see BaB as general competency in combat. If a world class fighter is in front of some mook who he laps 3 times over in the +...

Re: Feats
Better feats for the first question. Dropping a feat for +1 damage is nonsense. Fighter specific kick ass feats would be cool.[br][br]For the second question, BaB should work like warhammer, where it scales depending on how much you own them at the current time. All the classes should gain functions...

I have to agree with Catharz, also:
"so let's try to "branch out" a bit"
My eyes, make them stop burning!

K - I checked the build a while ago and noticed one thing, it doesn't look like Fire Heritage adds +1 to caster level to fire descriptor spells. Am I missing something? [br][br]Edit - It looks like elemental spellcasting was the feat you meant to suggest :thumb: [br][br]Edit Edit - Chain spell, it a...

One was Garet Jax, and i'm not sure about the others. I assume other fantasy characters from literature. I was wondering myself, frank and K. Mind explaining the others?

Re: Dungeonomicon
Aww inspiring! [br][br]-Edit - however, is there a reason why the assassin will save is poor? I don't see that as a particular weakness of the character, since they are supposedly trained/disciplined killers.[br][br]I would think Fort was the dump save, but then again you may just be doing it for ch...

Re: Help Wording Something
Digging for any spell ever printed, in the current edition is a pretty boss ability. [br][br]Can "anyspell" be cast any number of times up to your caster limit? THe easiest balance I can see would be to say you can only anyspell once for each level. Gives you some versatility, but doesn't ...

Re: Playing the Same Game
Let me preface this by saying i'm a veteran of strategy games of about 18+ years now. So pardon my emphasis on mechanics ripped from them :P[br][br]Also note, I think you need to place the emphasis on class functions that CANNOT be decreased or made less effective in the face of other things. Two sw...

Re: Playing the Same Game
I agree with your points entirely frank.[br][br]The problem isn't so much with the fact that fighters have always been every other class' beotch, but that every other class does their job better than they ever could without GM intervention. [br][br]Clerics and wizards *shouldn't* be able to snap the...

Re: Ray based Sorcerer advice
I'm not sure if my conscience will allow me to use this spell now that i've read it.[br][br]So what do you think about Arcane thesis, frank and everyone? I read it as -1 with no minimum limit to meta magic costs, and it applies to any metamagic added.[br][br]I seriously doubt that was the intent tho...

Re: Ray based Sorcerer advice
1150741000[/unixtime]] My first level spells were going to be ray of enfeeblement [br][br]Ugh. Why? That spell is total ass. It can't drop any opponent or set up an opponent to be dropped by another effect. It just reduces their melee damage output, but not even enough to turn the tide of battle.[b...

Re: Ray based Sorcerer advice
Oh anything is game. My first level spells were going to be ray of enfeeblement and grease. I just zero'd in on scorching ray because it seems to be the most efficient based on level and damage.

Re: How do I convince a DM I'm not a powergamer...?
I'm just curious here guys.[br][br]How does one get a familiar mount? As a sorcerer, don't you need to pick from the list of suitable options? Doesn't the paladin mount come in a few levels later?[br][br]Where does this overlap?[br][br]And if your GM has issues with the fact you can combine one Stat...

I don't really understand how taking credit for something is a violation of their board rules.

Okay, I don't read WotC, so what's a "Gish"?
Retarded name adapted to "fighter/mage" due to the fact githyanki fighterwizards call themself that, I believe?
More netspeak shorthand.

Re: Duskblade vs traditional Gish discussion
I was talking about why people come up with elaborate multiclassed hybrids rather than playing straight wizards. Why people do the former instead of playing clerics is a mystifying question, and I can only assume it either has something to do with the continuing misperception of clerics as walking ...
