Re: The Feeling of Epic

Getting long combats is tough. About the only thing I can think of is increasing DR or AC to the point where you effectively can't be hurt except by attacks that take a long time to execute. So it may take a casting time of 1 minute to activate your super anti-epic laser or something which is needed...

Having a bunch of lists you've got to choose from sounds like a lot of work, similar to picking PrCs for monsters and such.

Re: Warlocks, Kobolds, Dragons and the shaft.

I honestly don't really care about kobolds. They're little monsters that are supposed to be killed by the dozens. Most DMs who like kobolds use them solely to humiliate PCs (look you guys got pwned by kobolds!!1! lawl) .[br][br]As as warlocks. I'm kind of indifferent too. I like warlocks, but the fa...

Yeah I never knew the Shadowrun history had all that stuff in it. Like the insect spirits turning human and everything or even the immortal elves. I guess it suffers a lot from WoD syndrome where the story is spread out over several books, instead of just one or two setting books.

I don't know. Carrying capacity has never really been muhc of a problem in D&D, so I doubt the Diablo system would work well in pencil and paper. When you've got anything like shrink item or bags of holding, how much you can carry becomes moot. [br][br]Plus it gets far too much into logistical c...

Re: What abilities should a CR 20 monster have?

Teleportation. You can't dispel a forcecage. Doesn't have to be long teleportation, it can just be tactical teleport, but it needs to have some means of teleport or access to a disintegrate spell. [br][br]Also what rules are you using? Like is shivering touch in the game? Is wraithstrike? That sort ...

Re: New Edition of Rules

The slot system seems like it has potential. That'd allow you to play batman, who uses a ton of gadgets but no real supernatural powers, or you could play a straight up mage with all supernaturals and no items, or a mix of the two.

I'm thinking you probably need more than four slots though.
