And the romans had a quite interesting siege doctrine: 1-Build a second castle around the enemy castle so they can't break out. 2-Build a third castle around your second castle to stop enemy reinforcements from coming in. 3-? 3 was usually to build a giant siege ramp that allow them to march a cent...

So you can't protect your game mechanics with copyright

Well, at least in this particular case (a card game). It appears you need to patent your mechanics to protect them from cloning. Exactly what this means for a traditional TT RPGs isn't obvious from the summary, though I suspect you better have a large litigation budget if you try it against Hasbro. ...

Most of the problems with Movement seem like they could've been solved by the KISS rule - have the power actually increase speed, with all accompanying consequences. There's already a (barely functional?) mini-game for vehicles and speed, so the Movement power would just piggyback off of those rule...

Me and my Group have an very poor record of running away while still being able. Not shure how typical that is  It depends on the group and the game. I know a GM who talked to the players about how just when they think it is all lost they will find a way to achieve a hard won victory. So the ...

Not by how many thousands or millions of people know or think they know that they exist. -Username17 I'm reminded of the line from the grandfather in Lost Boys at the end of the movie: &q...

I doubt I could get anyone to actually run such a game even if there's a good system for it and I'm not sure I'd have time for it if someone did, but if you know of a not-WoD system that could handle that game I'd be interested just to hear about it. You can do that in Hero. I did a jaguar in a sup...

Playing RQ2 was a lot more fun than AD&D, at least it was for me in ~1980. But it's certainly not perfect.

Glorantha is totally insane in a lot of ways, but it can also be a lot of fun if you ignore whatever parts you find too crazy to handle.

To be honest, I don't care how big and heavy the world book for the Dresden Files RPG, because that content is the main reason I bought it. The system you are supposed to use seems pretty awfully large and complex for a supposed rules-lite system, but I don't care. That isn't why I bought the game.
