Many good paid games, especially puzzles, have the Unity splash screen. Indie creators don't see the problem with crediting tools they use, AND the revenue cap on the free version is $200k / year, so paying feels like a waste of money. Free games, however, splash screen or no splash screen, cost tim...

But what about Dexterity? How is it not incredibly stupid for there to be negative Dexterity modifiers when getting caught flat footed negates your Dexterity? Like, how is it even possible for there to be 5 levels of slower movement than people who are attacked while not moving? Why is that even a ...

So are you arguing that elves don't feature in Dragonlance or that elves don't feature in Tolkien? No, I'm arguing elves in Dragonlance are not somehow a more objectionable borrowing from Tolkien than elves in other D&D settings, so calling out specifically DL for daring to have elves from the ...

I don't really see how. Dragonlance ended up with something much closer to Tolkien as interpreted by the 1980s than the Forgotten Realms did, and the fact that they were adhering to what was by then a long and storied tradition of ripping of Tolkien doesn't make a difference to what actually ended ...

Way less of a shitshow than Forgotten Realms. At least the authors didn't sexually harass anyone. And the customizable adventures were cool.

My understanding is that this was an early/rejected version of the Dragonlance characters. Red robe is Raistlin, the big guy is Cameron, the guy with the warhammer is Tannis Half-Elven. I don't know where I heard that. Not likely. The Dragonlance party was designed by committee, and a bunch of stuf...

I liked TLJ. Leia living: she's Luke's twin. "Gurls can't Force" was terrible and you know it. That said, she IS massively shat on, in that she blows as the leader of the Resistance. Her HR and outreach work is a war crime. Hux and Kylo Ren as joke villains - they're basically the alt-righ...

The Russian Orthodox Church and the Investigative Committee (the top prosecution office) have launched an investigation into whether the execution of the royal family in 1918 was a Jewish ritual blood sacrifice sealing the Bolsheviks' deal with Satan. (They're convinced it was.)

Kind of jarring to see these religious symbols among so much cutting-edge 70s' technology, but the Russians probably figured that a +1 morale bonus to Attack Rolls and Will Saves vs Fear could't hurt. The church is marking territory, like a dog. The Russian Orthodox Church = evangelical hate and ch...

Bump for Stranger Things 2, because it neither rocked (unlike the first season) nor lost me. I'm with Obsidian on this one. Romances in vidya are creepy shit if they're taken at face value; they're essentially porn. I'm very much pro-porn and pro-wish fulfillment in general, but if a game is pretentious enough to claim sincerity, the porn has to go. It doesn't even have to be successful; on...

While the Civil Rights movement may have had a 'violent wing', I think that LGBTQ have seen a significant increase in their rights without violence at all. I don't recall any 'threat of violence' if the supreme court didn't overturn anti-sodomy laws, for instance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ston...
