Bill S.978 will punish game copy-right infringement

First half of the video sort of explains the thought behind the bill. Second half is selling the like button.

Grim and Dark Distopia

The setting is a grim and dark distopia. Humanity has successfully traversed the stars and colonized worlds, even terraformed a few. But the promise of entire new worlds to live on didn't bring peace to humanity. Somehow, everything got worse. The corruption of governments and corporations inspired ...

How about that setting I started on for 'Battles of the Star Angels and Space Devils'? It needs a much better title, and allot of fleshing out, but the setting was supposed to support shadow cults, corrupted corporations, mutants and psychic hi-jinks, and small squad tactical warfare... all undernea...

The additions to this program that would make it awesome would be an ability to specifically add or remove things, the ability to randomly generate dungeons and building interiors, a layering function to improve game useage with a projector, and a function to populate the area with tribes and monst...

I think a concept we have to get right down to is that the Running of Kingdom mini-game isn't something that is done consistently for an entire gaming session, but is more like playing chess by mail. You spend a few moments setting up all the things you want your empire to do, and then you spend the...

Mass combat, realm management, and politics are all integral components of the end-game, something which apparently doesn't happen in the current market but which there is quite possibly some demand for. Quite possibly isn't enough. You need to know you have customers to sell to, and you need to kn...

It looks to me like you're at the product development stage and are thinking about getting some advertising done. You're jumping ahead of yourself if you think you can make a playable game, glue some pretty pictures on it and call it a winning product. You need to take a step back from the game desi...

So more abstract? Like, no squares or yardage count, you just have a book keeping of the amount of places you have and hope for the best? So something like: Dragonstown Terrain: Weather: Special Features: Wilderness - That area people avoid cause there's stuff that will kill them in it. Monster Rate...

Halfway through reading this thread, ideas started forming on a Kingdom running (mini)game. I'm not entirely certain as to how all the mechanics will work, but I do have some ideas... I imagine a sort of abstract mapping system for an large region that the GM has divided up into smaller chunks to ma...

OK, I just skimmed through the whole eleven fucking pages of this thread. Other than a few insightful posts on what not to do, I have seen nothing on what to do! So I'm going to ask: When you make a game, what do you do to add tactical depth?

OK, I don't think drawing additional cards is the way to go. It just messes up the power of the game. And giving your opponent a big benefit by making them draw more cards would seriously turn people off from the game. Anyone have any other suggestions? I don't know why you were talking abut drawin...

Re: Getting a WoF system for D&D down to a manageable size.

Use keywords and standardize powers as much as possible. The power schemes for 3E and 4E are such big wastes of space that it's unreal. So, would something that can be summarized like this be what you are thinking of? http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/78 That's the k...

What country do you work in? Cause I'm pretty sure that in most of the civilized world if you're too ill to contribute, they forgive you on the expectation that you make it up as soon as you can. In other news, how do you do damage to the leader? Outnumbering the enemy's candy girls appears to simply mean that you can double team their candy girls, I didn't notice any portion of the game where you could actually attack the enemy leader. An interesting concern, however I'm not sure how to resolve the issue. I want randomness inherent in the abilities themselves, but I don't want to incorporate dice. (The RP uses dice anyway.) I figured a coin would be the best way to do, both being the easiest to acquire and read. Because of the num...

CandyGirls, The Collectible Battle Card Game

A thought occurred to me. Why not make CandyGirls a Card Game? This is one coincidence after another. I have just created the rule system for a Trading Card Game. I have &qu...

OK, so there's the basic background to the setting: A bunch of wizards did it. But the world needs more than just a background. It needs places for people to go.
