Alright, this is my last question about the gaming den board and their members: he doesn't want you to take his threat to hunt down and kill your family seriously(example) but he does want you to take his writting seriously. So why does he get hot and bothered when others bad-mouth his work (like Li...

Hey look, it's Jerry doing even more complaining about the board. Who would have thought? Shut the fuck up already. I'm not complaining about this board. ok, I think I mis-spoke. Frank's an ass. he doesn't want you to take his threat to hunt down and kill your family seriously(example) but he does ...

Frank's an ass, that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be taken seriously. This forum is almost entirely comprised of people who probably grew up as ostracized nerds and became asses as a defense. We get that here, and most conflicts only occur when someone's a bigger ass than the other person expects...

Frank and K were very frank when they were there. That guy is a straight up asshole. You can be frank and an asshole. EX: the time that Frank said that someone's concerns on the Paizo baord were something to the extent of "unimportant and that he was making up problems for D&D, like asking...

I wonder if this guy is Lich Loved's sock puppet . I mean, just from looking at his recent posts . It's nice to see that the douchebaggery is still in fine form over there. And who are you to judge? You and Frank weren't very nice to people over there either. Oh wait, I'm taking all this seriously....

My dad played it, and enjoyed it, but I couldn't help but notice that a huge amount of riding through vast empty landscape was needed. That's a cunning way of claiming "60+ hours of gameplay". In one quest, he had to get thrown in jail to talk to a guy. Except the guards liked him too muc...

Complaining about problems is important. Identifying a problem is the very first step in fixing a problem. All the complaining posts and threads are people refining their ability to identify problems, hopefully in an insightful or humorous way. If you don't have that first step, you get Enworld. A ...

No, they just overlook flaws in the game product, because they don't want to admit that their game has problems.

It is almost always easier to find a problem than create a solution. But people here do create solutions, especially Frank and K. But how many threads/posts here are dedicated to fixing problems instead of complaining about them? Sorry to be the Devil's Advocate, the boards just come off that way.

But when good ideas/rules come out, you don't see as many threads here discussin them, compared to the threads about broken rules, fixing broken rules, or how much WotC sucks.

Bitter much? The fact that many threads here focus on the negative aspects of RPG mechanics strikes it as though many people here, but you and Frank in particular, are seldom satisfied with RPG games in general. That, and I don't go on Internet message boards to find genuine works of quality, or so...

You know, before I stumbled onto this site, I just didn't care as much about the negative aspects of D&D. When I did stumble onto such problems, I didn't realize it.

You guys just seem too pessimistic for my tastes.

Not a bad thread, per se, but something interesting I noticed: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1052962 In 3e, nobody would have batted an eye at a character having a golem. In 4e, though, this is omgdisbalanced!1!1! It just seems very funny to me how 95% of people didn't care about somet...

I think I get it now

This quote was what some goon at WotC said in a 4th Edition thread: (I've always wondered about the need to force the system to become what you want, when there is a system in existence that does the job better. Why contort a system into what it isn't, when in the end, you are not playing 4.0 anyway...

I get the feeling that if Wizards or some other publisher made rules for aging, you guys would diss it no matter what.

Welcome to the Gaming Den, where we toss around ideas that sound cool until they hit the printer, in which case they're unbalanced!

So people will actually defend 4e by saying that it's a giant step backward to the days of Basic and 1e (well, except that those games had some guidelines involving ability checks for non-combat situations). But 4th Edition is not for everyone! Of course you guys wouldn't like it! Your standards ar...

I think that Core Clerics can make good Gish builds, what with Divine Power, Righteous Might, and death spells like Implosion.

Just change it to a non-religious flavor.

A Gish Core Class has existed all along.
