I have seen reports from individuals who have caught the virus that there are mental side effects. Some have said that they are making stupid decisions. Others are saying they're more angry and argumentative. I'm finding it impossible to find information about because google returns articles about t...

The three groceries in town are PACKED. And the stores aren't doing anything to deal with the issue. They aren't limiting the number of people in the store. They are just letting people mob the store, especially when new supplies arrive. I needed a few things this morning (how could I be out of hand...

Lessons I Hope We Learn from COVID-19 Social programs buffer us against widespread problems, like a savings account buffers a person/family in times of emergency. Not all enemies can be fought with guns. We have a strong military, but that's not really gonna help against the virus. Our insistence u...

MERS (why did they put a place name in that one?!) is also known as the camel flu because it can be transmitted from camel to human. But it's not an easy transference. The WHO decision that viruses should not be named after locations was made in 2015. MERS was first reported in 2012, so it got name...

Giovanni and I are having a good time watching 100 Humans on Netflix. It's a semi-scientific exploration of human behavior. Episode 4 is on bias, and even though you can't necessarily draw a scientific conclusion from 100 people, it's still an eye-opening episode.

My mother-in-law is freaking out on my behalf. She sent me a text yesterday that said I should fill a bathtub with water (and a little bleach for potability), and my pantry with bags of dried rice and beans. Apparently people in my area are also feeling it. In addition to toilet paper being sold out...

It's entirely possible that a person who barely remembers what they are doing isn't the best person to take care of themselves. Noted. I have a lot experience with peeps like t...
