Being able to run around with a shotgun, plus two hands free to open doors and shit, is pretty nice. But it's not crazy. Even if you can hold a bunch of guns, you can really only usefully shoot one at a time.

I've played an aquatic-variant Human TomeBarbarian from level 11 to 16. As a house rule, everyone was immune to death for narrative reasons. My narrative reason was that I was immune to death and this was only barely a stretch from the rules as written. Barbarians are great fun. You get in there and...

I think that's what people want out of Exalted. It's a horror game unless you're playing the protagonist and your goal is to push it towards epic fantasy.

Humans are not a 'pure' intelligence with no inbuilt biases, objectives, or values. There are some things we want, or think we want, that are built in to our DNA and the native structure of our brains. I'm bearish as to whether a hard-takeoff AI bloom is even possible, but if it is possible, there's...

A lot of the time you can fax checks. My bank has a system where you can send them a high-res photo of a signed and validated check marked as 'delivered via internet' and they'll count it as deposited. So, we might have both. It might boil down to putting the app on the bank's side, and we just use ...

Is the history of Skill Challenge failures anywhere?

Is there any place on the internet with a quick, accurate summary of the history of Skill Challenge rewrites that came out over the course of 4e and how each of them failed to solve problems?

I've been less than thrilled with Occupy Boston as a coherent political force. It's been a good way to meet other local activists, though - more like a convention than anything. I never actually camped, though. I chipped in some cash and labor to help clean up the camp, but that's it. Edit: Hey, Mea...
