I have written MORE MATERIAL about the function of the rules I use than the actual rules I use . If this is literally true then you are one stupid moron. I suspect it isn't though, shadzar could see that writing massive defenses of rules rather than posting the considerably shorter rules is stupid....

And I am rather annoyed that I am expected to deal with criticisms like that when Frank appears to get a free pass on the level 1 barmaids auto-seducing the king into doing things apparently no rational man would want to do (according to Frank, aspiring arbiter of your new Infinite Sized Circumstan...

The problem I have with Pl's system is that there seems to be no reason to ask for a diplomatic compromise. ie 'Lets not attack each other's kingdoms.' It seems like its just as easy to go with 'How about you give me your kingdom and also become my personal jizzrag?' Encouraged even, since asking fo...

That is a really good point. OK, from now on I'm reformating it so that glossary words are bolded and stressed words in sentences are italicized . Works for me. Put a note to that effect in the intro, then hope people read the intro. ;) When you get nearer final editing can you post a list of gloss...

Basic tests are called for whenever it is important to what degree the character succeeds or fails on the task. You mostly seem to be using italics for reserved game words. The sort with a defination in the glossary. Here you have 'important' itallicised for emphasis. You should stick with one or t...

View Newest Post Borked?
When I click the view newest post button for a thread it is taking me to what was the newest post one or two days ago. Is anyone else getting this? I've only had it happen since getting a new PC with Win 7 if that matters.

The server farm my group runs costs $4M/year and it's fairly tiny. The big cost is personnel and it's easy to have a bunch of sysadmins and programmers costing that by themselves. (Not gross, but once everything is factored in.) If I needed a bunch of servers in disparate locations, with maintenanc...

And on the difficulty of keeping the lights on: I think it's pretty clear that you can keep your servers running indefinitely with a hundred thousand people paying ten bucks a month. For fuck's sake, that's 12 million dollars a year in gross. Those City of Heroes servers aren't shutting down any ti...

I am often amused that people come uninvited to the Den to tell us who we are, often in a lame attempt to defend something we are talking about in one of the most obscure corners of the internet with a handful of regular posters. Pretty much this, you've gotta be really defensive to give a crap abo...

Re: Corporate E-mail monitoring
So, I have always been in favor of a company's right to read the e-mails of their employees on the company sever. But recently, a thought occured to me about it. Every day, more and more people switch from standard mail, to electronic mail, and if I were to open up a letter sent to an employee that...
