In Spycraft 2.0 the Iron Will feat in addition to providing a +3 bonus to base Will saves also increases one's ability to handle nonlethal and stress damages.
Just sayin'.

Yeah, unlike Villains and Vigilantes --another old-school, randomly rolled superhero game-- Heroes Unlimited isn't even balanced by the other people at the table. There are no skills in Villains and Vigilantes and you're supposed to play yourself, which means if you can do it in real life, you can p...

Also, would something like an Atlantean ley-line walker mesh mechanically with the Heroe's Unlimited game (born on Wormwood b/c, well, I've got the Wormwood book and it's interesting/awesome, but if not w/e)? There's no balance in Heroes Unlimited . The game expects you to roll for pretty much ever...

I've never heard of the ranger being the charm/luck character, that's been the bard's association, at least from a 3E angle. Uh huh. And there's no Tome bard so there's no role that's being usurped. But that's beside the point, really… PhoneLobster is asking for a difference in actual fighting styl...

What's wrong with choosing a creature type every level and keeping them as they are (inc. fucked up subtypes and all)? I mean, that let's you choose low-level bullshit when you're low level and high level badasses when you're high level--and it's enough of them so it matters. Further, just make favo...

Um, actually, IIRC, Spycraft first edition predates d20 Modern by some months. In fact, the Spycraft folk (again, putting words in their mouths) are pretty sure the idea of action points came from Spycraft 's idea of action dice . As both were released in 2002--and AEG's agreement at the time with W...

Note: Yeah, I'm still pitching Spycraft . What, you haven't converted yet? You're an ass. The Spycraft versions of the field scientist and the field officer classes are Spycraft 's expert classes of inventor and tactician . I'm none too fond of the inventor. Really, compared to Spycraft 's other hi...

Okay, now I can tell you the downsides. The default is geared toward secret agents. I mean, you're playing a game called Spycraft , for fuck's sake, so what did you expect? That means if you're looking for mecha, cybernetics, a huge variety of Old West revolvers, WWII artillery, or lightsabers, you'...

How lethal do you want it? Seriously. When you're setting up your Spycraft campaign you can apply what are called campaign qualities to it, which can have a radical effect on game play. In the default game, it works off of the Vitality/Wound Point idea from the old WotC Star Wars iteration, but done...

There's nothing stopping you from doing the time-honored hurl-them-into-the-fantasy-world schtick of every hack fantasy author. Start in modern day, and then send the PCs off to fantasyland when FantasyCraft comes out. Martial arts and melee fighting kick ass in Spycraft anyway, so just make sure an...

Seriously, with the RAW, you can almost do fantasy. The one spellcasting class that's been released (an evoker variant) showed that the spellcasting classes wouldn't overshadow the martial classes (or even the scholarly classes!). When you can pick your weapon proficiencies (even ifyou've only two),...

I think that would just be me. Which edition'd you get? The game's about as solid as d20 can get without things like Frank and K's radical alterations. Every origin is useful, every class is useful, prestige classes don't hump you, the skill system blows away every other d20 iteration ever , by givi...

Fuck d20 Modern . It's stupid to even heft that beast when Spycraft 2.0 is clamoring for your attention, steadily bcoming the go-to place for post-1850 d20 role-playing. Hell, you can even pay, like, $5 for a PDF that converts the d20 Modern base classes into playable ones using the Spycraft 2.0 rul...

I like the concept. I know it's designed for low-level horror games, which is why it only goes up to level 8, but I think it could stand the whole treatment. The Albertus Magnus/Dr. Frankenstien-archetype definitely has a place in fantasy gaming, and, conveniently, a place in my upcoming game. _____...

3D Movie Viewing Help
Okay, so I can choose to see Journey to the Center of the Earth (don't ask me why I would--just roll with it) in my area in 3 different 3-D formats, Read D 3-D, Dolby 3-D, and 3DX (yes, there a lot of theaters in my area). Anybody know the differences between the various 3-D formats? Is one type con...

DnD 3rd edition you were asked to choose between classes that were said to be equal but were not. In Rifts, one of your character choices is hobo and if you pick that you had to have known that you were picking a low powered character. Similarly, if you picked the guy who began play with mecha armo...
