It contains a minimum of DM fuckery because it contains a minimum of everything. https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/173/576/Wat8.jpg That's like saying people can't fuck with you because there are no rules. GM fuckery is usually in spite of rules. "Oh, those guys tailing you can'...

Almanac, Paid GMs are a long time thing.
the modern tendency to pay for something you can get for free.
think of them as the Escorts of tabletop gaming.
You pay someone to do it so you can guarantee it will be fun for you.

Considering the current situation it's less giving free stuff and more balancing it out
Mages get bonuses, disadvantages and roleplay opportunities
Adepts get disadvantages and roleplay opportunities, but pay the same as the mages

So, theoretically, if I wanted to throw adepts a bone and have Mentor spirits give Adept powers (like SR5 does) AND used Franks Adept power errata: How much should the adept powers be worth? SR5 Mentor spirits give powers around 0.5PP, with Raven being the exception (1PP). Is that a good amount wort...

and if you aren't willing to do deep dives into min maxing to get massive pornomancy dicepools or whatever, you probably shouldn't be an Adept at all. -Username17 So in your opinion every Adept player should be a dirty Min-Maxxer? that's an opinion I just can't support. Adepts are the magical equiv...

How would you guys make mentor spirits more useful for Adepts in 4e?
Because aside from the Roleplay potential they maybe get an advantage and definitely get a disadvantage, while mages get both

Can someone tell me where it says in SR4e that you can use active skills for knowledge skills?
Because I was sure it was in the CRB, but can't find it and am not sure if it's even in it or if I just copied it from 5e

SR has clearcut rules of sorcery, which means that you can instantly know if a spell fits into SR or not: Sorcery Cannot Affect Anything to which the User Does Not Have a Magical Link. Any sorcery a magician wants to do has to be done through a magical link. Usually LOS suffices, though you can use ...

The reason why RAW and RAI are there is because writing rules is an artistic endeavour And just like with art or music what you produce may not be what you wanted to produce So sometimes you want your rules to do XYZ. But either due to small errors, incompetence or lack of perspective you instead pr...

From what I read you (metaphorically) get the ability to cross the moat, but not the castle wall.
if the server is inside a dead zone you can connect to it.
but if the server is behind (natural) obstructions like earth, faraday cages or heavy application of WiFi-blocking paint it doesn't work

Reading the first two paragraphs I was confused who Perion and the Merchant Guild were and what their relations to the main actors were
maybe add some clarification in such cases, like
Perion (Former lover of Kiera)
Merchants Guild (rivals to Niko)

Oh, and just another thing I saw sharks are as hardy as never before Because they now have Hardened Armor 6 which means 6 auto hits on soak and no damage if the damage before soak is below 6 so a katana needs 2 net hits, a Defiance T-250 shotgun needs 2 net hits (3 if it's sawed off) and an Ares Alp...

Worse. Only worn armor doesn't. The armor spell does give bonus dice. Yeah. It's the same as with sneaking. A Chameleon suit gives you an extra edge when you try to hide and also raises your Defense Rating by 2 if you have wireless on. Meanwhile the (Improved) Invisibility spell gives you the Invis...

So in general there was a big change in the edge system. It was apparently similar to the Advantage stuff from 5e, where you get advantages that you can use to help you. It was apparently supposed to supplant the old method of giving DP modifiers. They fucked it up. So weapons in 6e have 4 Stats: Da...

From the things I've seen with OSR it seems far more focussed on low-level adventures. Stuff where you aren't much different from the townsfolk around you, constantly at danger from anything in the wildness.

not necessarily inept, but definitely at ground level

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZPN1-6xfGD9SV6xD85eaJIWoNq0NcsBdE3CQI8s5rJU/ Let me list them up: The edge system. Specifically you can only gain 2 Edge per CT. So if you have an assault cannon, you're an elf and it's light darkness, you basically don't give a shit about anything else. Armor, co...
