Honestly I pretty much already play "everybody is a caster" in D&D, if you count Martial Adepts as "casters." It's been a long time since I've ever seen anyone play any of the non-caster core classes. Even the Rogue is usually discarded in favor of something like an artificer...

As an additional note to that however I think it should be universally possible to "purchase" abilities from other classes with a "feat" or whatever. So if you want to be a Fighter/rogue but you really really want "Evards Black Tentacles" you should be able to get it. ...

Honestly, if 4e gave powers that were as awesome as 3e spells, and they actually were somewhat thematic to their classes rather than shit like "weapon+attribute damage, slide opponent 1 square" which doesn't indicate to me that it belongs to any class... then I could have been crazy in lo...

Bone Knights

Was just curious about people's opinion on this Cleric prestige class from Five Nations. I've heard it was good, but a quick google search didn't really show me any details as to *why* people felt this way. On a quick glance, I see that it grants a lot of attractive immunities. On the other hand, yo...

Isn't this the usual M. Night Shyamalan twist?

I can't actually think of a movie of his that was terribly good.

I don't think WOW/MMOs are killing off tabletop, I think that tabletop designers (at least in the D&D product line) are looking at MMOs and saying "well shit that's popular on a computer, so let's rip it off and plug it into the game." And of course this doesn't work because many of t...

I tried searching the forum, and only found a small mention within another thread about cheap labor, so here I am to ask: What is your opinion of the returnergames FFRPG system. If the two posts I saw are any indication, it's another system thought to be of poor quality, but those posts omitted the...

Re: Incoming House Rules

But this makes the game much more unpredictable and swingy. Is that a goal? How is it more unpredictable? Full BAB characters will presumably always hit instead of always hitting once and sometimes hitting two or three times. The caveat I would have is that this system encourages you to have a bunc...

Reminds me of the Quest for Glory game manuals. (long, so spoilered) How do I fight? If one wishes to become a fighter, it is wise to obtain a sword and shield at the earliest opportunity. We do not recommend unarmed combat against a monster, as you can be 'dis'-armed rapidly. Basic sword work cons...

(Edited since Leress deleted his reply after I responded to it...) I did that since I read your post from the previous page. Ah, I see. But it seems like someone else didn't... Chainmail bikinis fall into this category. It's always out of place and it dehumanizes any character that's wearing one. Counterpoint: Makri in the Thraxas books. She wears the chianmail bikini solely to increase the tips she earns as a barmaid in to help fund her courses at the Guild College and t...

What the fuck is up with Ivy's tits? Her rack has exploded in size since she was first introduced. Good god. The same has happened to a lot of characters in the Soul Edge/Calibur series. The sexualization of the female cast has upped significantly with every new game, and in 4 it's just ridiculous.

My problem isn't with whether people wear revealing clothing (or even if they wear anything at all), it has to do with characters who are dressed really obviously absurdly for the sole purpose of titillation, outside of any in-story context, often even at the expense of story if need be (For example...

So here's an issue you might want to discuss. Let's pretend we do something like, say, have 4 stats, throw out constitution, and roll Charisma into wisdom and get Willpower, or something. Then which characters are getting laid? The Rogue? Nope, the Rogue needs Dexterity. What stat is giving you the ...
