Re: Tome of Extremes?
I can tell you I could imagine (maybe even draw) better things than a damn furry when I was 14. On an on-topic note: K, if that material still exists, do you think you'd have, well, the interest, in passing this along if asked? Actually, what'd interest me isn't even the gore/sex/whatever most peopl...

Re: Dungeons and Discourse
Of course, my having to ask points enough to my not-so-great familiarity with physics (and related things), but, with the Greek having thought the atom was indivisible, what gives the impression that now the absolute minimum limit was found?

Re: The Political Future of the World
Heh, great last paragraph, Frank; but could you explain a little further what the hell is a Pan-Arab organization composed of nationalist branches? It really isn't looking like making any sense for me. Also, it seems that what crumbled Islam after the Middle Ages was their damn coordination problems...

I'm a pretty sick fvck when I try. [br][br]The Tome of Necromancy and Tome of Fiends was just PG-13 DnD. I could get jailed for writing out the ideas I've discarded for those tomes alone. Honestly. I just hope they fix the force because it was fvckt in the last ED. [br][br]Amazon just gave me my copy.[br][br]There is one skill called Use The Force , and you learn powers you can use with that skill by taking feats. Each feat gives you 1+WIS mod Force powers. I like this system better.[br][br]

I'm wondering whether the correlation between XP and GP should be one-way or two way. [br][br]That is, clearly XP should be able ot spent on class features like "cybereyes" or "keeps a stolen diamond in his pants" or "inherited lasergun prototype"[br][br]The question is...

1181044858[/unixtime]]I liked the idea of alignment points that power alignment-feats. Lets say that everyone starts with +4 if they are good-aligned and -4 if they are evil-aligned (yeilding a max equal to your max skill rank, DM determines on level-up if you gain a point). Then, these power your ...

Re: Tome of Extremes?
I like the idea of just tying the feats directly to HD, with a requirement of being vile/exalted... We'll need to clarify what V/E mean, and I kinda like the idea of making them alignment supertypes, as in, you could have an ExLG or a VCE, or even, assuming you could justify it, VLG and ExCE.[br][br...

We'd need to make a new game anyway for this to work.[br][br]Re: Brobdingnagian.[br][br]"Class" -- That's how I originally planned it, but I'm beginning to wonder whether it's a good idea. Different-priced abilities have the same design problems as cross-classed skills. It might be better ...

How long is the presentation expected to be? And what are the political leanings of the instructor? Generally, your best bet is to make something that comes in exactly on time, or a little under time, and doesn't ruffle too many feathers.[br][br]For example, a presentation on the Fall of the America...

Re: Soldier Problem, Part 3
Well, I had overestimated the level of interest the thread would generate, and figured that it might be best to separate discussion of extemporaneous character building from discussion of the role of fightrs, or fighters in cinema. I agree that the merge is for the best.

I'm not sure why you feel confident saying it will lead to one trick ponies. [br][br]I mean, it might well. That is a definite risk. In fact, it's an issue with basically all systems. D&D has one trick ponies. Even D&D ala Frank and K. And point-buy system is going to be even more vulnerable...

Yeah, it seemed like a good idea at one in the morning. [br][br]I do recognize that it could get pretty tricky. The key is in setting up the system to amkethsi as easy as possible. [br][br]The first thing to remember is that we want to write abilities rather than restrictions, since that's clearer a...
