there are some ants that keep lice to milk as stock, that what you mean or do you mean simple:"i don't like him, but i like you less so i protect him so you don't get him" asshattery? because if so, what do you think sheep-dog do? Lago can clarify, but I read it as the latter...but I also...

Difference is, judges actually need to follow the letter and ignore disagreements about intent, I can't tell if you are a dumb lawyer or a dumb not lawyer, but I'm leaning toward not. So, Let me explain this, no they fucking don't, Holy Trinity. Not a lawyer. Never claimed to be. But I apparently m...

You know, the funny thing is that this exact same thing applies to the law. Every judge knows that you are supposed to consider the intent of the law, and every judge is sure in every case that all it takes is a little common sense to know what the intent was. Oh course, they all drastically disagr...

we all knew and liked each other and hung around together whether or not we were playing D&D. You still must be aware that it is a good game design goal to minimize the amount of time your game forces people to stop playing your game. Actually no, I don't agree with that...at least not that it ...

What people do when a player character is killed ? No, seriously. What your group did when this happenned at your table ? Typically, they hang around, eat snacks, and watch the rest of the play session...because they are still a part of the group, even if there guy is dead, and have some sort of em...

A game is a game because it is an event with two possible outcomes: Success and Failure. If the thing is to be called a game, then both possibilities must exist. If you combine that assertion with Frank's assertion that pretending to be a naughty nurse and a sexy patient in the bedroom is a role-pl...

Ok things are insanely lethal, know that now. I reviewed the game recently and mentioned that a thing you should know is that in IKRPG offense is easy to buy in massive quantities with little investment. So both your party and your enemies will usually be able to one-round each other. They have a h...

Is Thamarite Advocate any good? Haven't reviewed extensively, but from what I've seen/heard, yes, it is crazy good. The main drawback is supposed to be (once again) that the DM is expected to fuck with you, because you're a "bad guy". Proceed with caution, depending on DM/fellow players.

I would not recommend Aristocrat at all, especially not for the team you're suggesting; it's utility is largely dependent on the DM. Second career depends on whether you're going magelock pistol or rifle; either way, you want to get your primary weapon skill to 2, and you want as much range as you c...

fectin wrote:Shorter shadzar: why buy a car, when you can just build one from scratch?
In all fairness, I think a better paraphrase of Shadzar would be "why buy a car, when you can just fucking walk". Because sometimes that statement is idiotic, and sometimes it is correct...just like use of MTP.

Kaelik, DSM, and Frank...thanks for the data, I appreciate it. Based on that...I have to admit that most libertarians are either idiots who don't know who/what they're voting for, or hypocritical assholes. EDIT: After reviewing that PDF...credit where credit is due, thanks Kaelik, that was very help...

A lot of libertarians vote straight red every single time, because conservatives use the same buzzwords and have the ability to win elections - it's the compromise between what they want and what they can actually have. Conservatives mean them even less than U.S. libertarians do and are socially co...

So, good news/bad news time. My wife wants to reconcile and not get divorced; I'm willing to give it a shot, because divorce was never an optimal solution, just the best of the bad options. But she's willing to compromise a lot more than she thought, so we're going to try it. I hope it works out. On...

Is there a prior edition of D&D where monks worked? Like AD&D or 2e or something. No. There was no edition where monks actually worked. 1E had them, and they were horrible unless you houseruled the crap out of them. 2E didn't have them for a while, then introduced them as a variant subclass...

D&D from the start seeks to model combat from 1960's medievalist movies where an heroic Robin Hoode personally fucks up the Reeve of Nottingham in extended man-on-man sword combat, plus fantasy Wizards and Orcs because it was the latest big thing at the time. A bunch of bobbies arresting Robin ...

I might allow you to play a bastard son of the king, but I wouldn't let you play Buck Rogers crash landed into this world with deflector shields and ray guns. Straight talk? An LMD is not an autonomous robot. It has to be controlled by somebody. Nick Fury always controls his, and so, since they are trying to hide it from him, obviously Coulson is controlling his. Oh, I see where the disconnect is. That's not actually true. LMDs are autonomous by default, the external c...

I thought the point was to play a fighter if you got shitty stats and die early so you can roll something you can actually have fun playing? Yeah, and the point a lot of people made in response was "Instead of rolling up a dozen schlubs and watching them die grisly deaths, why don't I just say...

Since we're going old-school, I'm using old school order. Str 8 Int 8 Wis 12 Dex 7 Con 7 Cha 13 And human cleric it is. With only a 5% chance of failing to cast my spells! Yes, allowing motherfuckers to bring more motherfuckers to the field shits on the action economy and is not liked by GMs nor other players. There should definitely be someway to limit the number of extra turns people get. Whatever method you come up with should also be able to handle an army reason...
