How much is a Ghost worth?
In a 3.5 D&D game, when would it be level appropriate for a PC to play an Incorporeal character, like a Ghost?

Who are we kidding? If there exists a mechanic for resource replemishment, a player will do whatever it takes to begin a life or death situation at full strength. D+D: Wands of Cure Light Wounds are cheap as free, and a command word amulet that casts cure minor wounds as a standard action all day lo...

That's a particularly harsh houserule. By 2e RAW, at every level (or maybe just when you got a new spell level), you got to roll to know any spell in the PHB, and you could go down your list of choices until you found one that stuck. The problem with that is that a wizard does not get any free spel...

How to make direct damage worth a spell slot
So I'm sitting in church, and then * BAM * it hits me: Direct damage instantanious spells (such as magic missile, scorching ray, fireball, cone of cold, disintegrate, and meteor swarm) should be a swift action to cast, and you should be able to cast it a number of times equal to your caster level wi...

High ability scores would mean something if they meant anything, at all. Seriously, the most stringent admission price to the paladin class is the 17 charisma which... lets you have 10 henchmen and get you +6 reaction for encounter hostility. Having a 15 in an 2e ability score means shit , you dont ...

6th and 7th level Priest spells have a lot of overlap with 7th, 8th, and 9th level wizard spells (I'm looking at you Gate and Symbol ), but the paladin specifically ony has minor acces to like 4 priestly spheres (which means they cap out at 4th level spells), with a delayed progression to boot that ...

The deal with 2e Paladins.
I heard expressed before that the 2e Paladin kicks ass. But what specificially puts him head and shoulders above a Priest (Cleric or Druid), Wizard, Wizard/Rogue, or Fighter/Cleric? Is it just the Holy Avenger and Mount (which I admit could be a flying creature at higher levels), or am I missing som...

So you want to ride a dragon?
Read the special mount rules in the back of the DMG, roll up an 11+ level Paladin, then roll up his character sheet and smoke that sweet, sweet cheese. Seriously. A Paladin can have a flying mount that is 4 CRs lower than his level. A very young gold dragon is CR 7. Did I mention that this gold drag...
