I'll just elaborate that the first question is a piece of trivia, where the god the PCs are helping out is checking if they memorized her biography and can spout factoids about how cool she is on demand. I've lost count of how often I've seen that in crpg's NWN, WoW, Elder Scrolls, Divinity 2... it...

But why bother adding them as xbow replacements if they're not going to be at-wills? Or for that matter, why not just buff Acid Splash, Ray of Frost, Disrupt Undead et al into doing 1d6+Int damage? Or even add some sort of Pathfinder version of Reserve Feats, those were actually kind of fun even if ...

I've played quite a few Pathfinder games and I've never had 3rd Party material allowed in games, though. Not even psionics. To be fair, 3rd Party pathfinder is pretty bad. As bad as 3rd party D20 was only it lacks those rare high budget licensed d20 books that almost made you forget that 95% of 3rd...

Actually, why is it always forests? Or, sometimes, swamps. For the sake of variety, I'd like to see a druid of plains or high mountains or the arctic. Or, how about a druid of deserts? A dried-up leather-skinned, heavy-browed wildman who makes the bugs leave him alone except when he need a crunchy ...

What if I'm an elf (for longbows)? Well you're stuck with your deity's favored weapon it you want to use WIS for attacks. I can't recall if Pathfinder even has any decent deity choices for bows. The only one in the core book has a pretty poor selection of domains besides Animals, and an even lamer ...

This is from the Samsaran race entry on the d20pfsrd. Rogue The rogue gains 1/6 of a new rogue talent. Wizard Add one spell from the wizard spell list to the wizard's spellbook. This spell must be at least one level below the highest spell level the wizard can cast. When pathfinder first came out I...

Found this, thought I'd mention in case of any interest to anyone - someone's compiled a list of abilities which let characters substitute ability score mods in place of other ability score mods: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1o91Z-s0R7Vf2Ujj1lFqGC5W--9JOyU0I6uC9XRIR5to/edit?pli=1# http://www....

Have you watched Kungfu Hustle? Because that exact scene is in the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3YbxgXq6dU But it all turns out okay at the end of the movie when the DM shows him some pity after getting his ass kicked and has a couple of npcs preform a magic ritual that changes all his Mon...

If you want some added muscle to the Blaster Cleric you can fit a Cleric Archer chassis on it really easily without giving up too much of your blasting capabilities. The only thing Cleric Archers really miss in Pathfinder are the animated shields, spell-storing arrows (a huge loss, but I've met no ...

I could swear I saw Frank do a review of Weapons of Legacy a long time ago. If I can recall it had the same problems most of 3/3.5's non caster stuff has, fighters have to run naked through a corn field backwards just to get a few shitty SLA's, like seven levels after casters got them, and with DC's...

You are way, way more likely to subject to a melee attack than a projectile attack, so Deflect Arrows being better is justifiable. It being this much better is a different story. Also, the guy with the bow is almost never the Hero or the Big Bad Evil Guy so no one cares about you avoiding some peon...

I wouldn't touch a no-save video game with a ten foot pole these days... it's not even a matter of difficulty, it's the fact that the bloody things crash at the drop of the hat now. I can't even play Skyrim anymore, it just constantly crashes. One save file even has some left over script from a ques...

Re: On the casters of spells
That's the fighter problem in a nutshell: the barbarian gets to choose what axe to use. The druid instead decided that it was time to be this: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTm2RMNioRljNBJ2j8_msxtxFxBOWnY3efDjNAkA5CQlfEGcOyn Not quite, the fighter problem is that you have too...

Re: Industrial Magic: Thoughts and Speculation
If you have an effective telecommunications device powered by the tortured souls of the dead bound into hand-held rocks with elf runes, but to use it your need to make a blood pact with an infernal service provider with your soul as collateral, the implementation is going to be limited. If your set...

Let's talk about a poster child for every fighterosexual - spherical wizard in an antimagic field. I choose D)It doesn't matter fucking matter because the same field just suppressed every magical item fighter has, making him as useless as the wizard. Except the powerless wizard can probably still r...

When Kindred of the Ag East arrives (along with a few others), anyone want a review of that? You can argue whether it's a splat book for Vampire or a game in its own right. I had a lot of fun with it and honestly, done right, it is a good game, but it is worthy of a review: art quality that varies ...
