Maybe they can import some of the Magic talent, now that there's an official Magic: The Gathering setting document for D&D 5e, based on the Zendikar set and The Art of Magic The Gathering?

Which means they're inevitably going to do some other off the wall shit. I suspect they'll grab the spell point rule variant out of the DMG and turn that into Psionics.

In light of the fact that New White Wolf has staked their claim to produce the official 4th Editions of the World of Darkness games, I wonder when Onyx Path will be forced to stop churning out 20th Anniversary garbage for WoD. Probably when the run-up to VtM4 begins in earnest. Thus far, the plan a...

People are making builds with more AC then the system is allowed to hit.

Spellcasters can arbitrarily become immune to weapons.

The paradigm isn't internally consistent and doesn't hold.
I know how to do the first, one, but how does the second one come about?

I would imagine that as long as the Skald offers up equivalent class features, you wouldn't have a hard time talking the DM into permitting such a thing.

So, I'm looking at running a Pathfinder game for my coworkers, but there's only four of us, so I'm bringing in my queermate as the fourth player. They're interested in playing a librarian character, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some class that particularly lends ...

So if the 4e Mystic Adept fails at life by being kinda unable to do it's shtick outside of some niche builds and super high karma situations, and the 4e Mystic Adept fails at life for being Better Than You At Everything, what's the happy medium? Is there a way to make them worthwhile without making ...

Correction. There is a viable stealth build. It involves being a rigger with Infiltration 4 and stealthing around with Command + Infiltration in a motorcycle with Walker Adaptation and a cyberarm. The whole thing would be roughly troll sized. Sooooo....a Cyclone pilot, then? http://news.toyark.com/...

I'd love to hear a special Disciplines tangent related to Thaumaturgy - Playing VtM off and on since we were all wearing black and ankhs and banging girls in black lipstick, I -still- don't really understand how the various Thaumaturgy powers, rituals, and variants all hang together.

I don't think that the "Virtual Environment" model adds anything other than complexity and resource demand. I like that the map itself is 3D, that was one of the big drivers of my interest in TableTop Connect prior to it's acquisition by FantasyGrounds, but all the rest of the window dress...

The Dungeon Master's Guild is something WotC should have done on release, frankly. If their idea all along has been to outsource setting books and adventure modules, they really really needed to have that out as soon as the DMG was out or possibly earlier. That was actually the plan - their Codenam...

Things like this: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/disciplines-and-maneuvers/broken-blade-maneuvers/steel-flurry-strike mean that anything you actually fight ends up insta-dead, especially at level 6 when you get that strike. Combine it with a boost such as http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/di...

Best thing out of Path of War is the Myrmidon (Fighter Archetype) from Path of War 2. Specifically Myrmidon combined with Martial Master (gives the Brawler floating feat ability). Myrmidon normally gives you maneuvers picked from 5 of the 'mundane' disciplines up to 6th level (plus Grit just as a b...

The 5e bladesinger is pretty nice. You're tougher to hit than an eldtritch knight, you get 2 - 4 minutes of Bladesong per day (read: effectively unlimited) and when you're NOT being weirdo fighter you're still a wizard. So this is basically a wizard who can slum it to beat things with a stick when h...

3.5 giveth and taketh away in re: spells. I liked that the 3.0 +Stat spells were Hour per Level - you could basically run through a full adventuring day on them. I disliked that they were variable effect, though. Plowing them down to round/level just meant they didn't get used at our tables in 3.5

For instance, "Minions of Chaos" lets you cast the conjure elemental spell once per day by spending a warlock spell slot. Do I have to spend an equal-level spell slot to do this? This actually isn't a question you need to ask - Warlocks' special snowflake regenerating spell slots are all ...

What should a lvl 14 D&D 3.5 Character be geared like

or: spend 173,202.5 gp outfitting my Warlock. We're approaching the end of the campaign, and our gear has been woefully inadequate for quite some time now. I think our DM realized this, and we ended up hitting a dragon horde that gave us just over the normal wealth by level guidelines each. I think ...

That could be good. Green Ronin is perhaps not the best writer for d20 material, but they do some good stuff. Given that Hasbro/WotC clearly has no interest in producing a professional product, if they started to simply manage the brand and license out the writing, I would honestly prefer that to t...
