I understand that, but what does the "3x3" matrix have to do with it?

I suppose you could do some werid backflips with two spell lists and caster levels, but it doesn't make much sense, no.

Nar Demonbinder
Can anyone explain to me why the Nar Demonbinder is so broken? It advances at normal caster level, except that it gains extra level 4 spells instead of extra level x spells. The only interesting ability I see is the ability to tailor Blasphemy and the like to your needs, but that isn't broken, IMO. ...

Re: CR should equal Hit Dice
Another problem is saves. At high levels, the monster's good save(s) increase(s) at 0.5 per CR. PC's will have enough gold to boost the dc's of their spells by more than that, making higher level monsters abysmal unless they get saves at the same rate or (nigh) unbeatable SR.

But what about high levels? There are some creatures with really high con scores out there (the brachyurus comes to mind) which can't be all compensated with size boni.

And if we don't use the asumption that you hit on at least as many numbers as you threaten? Do you get a whole lot of different answers depending on what your to hit percentage is?

DAncing is +4, right? By the time you get that, I figure enemies will make their saves or be able to dispell it...

I think you can. Spiritual weapon qualifies as a nonattack spell because it deals damage indirectly (like summon monster). Besides, it isn't really that awesome, IMO.

Hey, new to this part of the BBRing, though I've been lurking a while now. I was just wondering, why are vampires broken? Because of domination at will?
