Kewl, that fixes that issue. But now I can't set monthly rituals, "shift M" just takes me to the messages. What say you, whose kung fu is so vastly greater than my own? In other news, I was just about to hit Con 8 and look at artifacts, when I *double* tinkerbelled the other two AI players...

I noticed the Dutch were pretty dominating...lots of money and not having to buy a decent ship (i.e., another few thousand gold) are just so much better than extra immigrants (not even a thousand gold), happy natives (worth even less), and bonus when attacking native settlements (useless even if you...

No, there's a blood spell to extend the range of blood spells--all spells have a range to them now, even "teleport" is only good for 5 spaces (unless, of course you use an item or spell to extend the range). I'd love to have a stealthy assassin...but you gotta pump up the assassin with ite...

Yeah, there's a fistful of stealth items....the Eye of Innocence adds like 50 to stealth (if you don't mind losing an eye...), and there are a few others. I've never seen much reason to put much into stealth units. You pay 30 gold, and if you lose em, you lose em. Bury them in magic items, and if yo...

I found alchemy, and I'll take another look at Lanka national spells. The eyescooper is fun, but you can't kill anyone with it. I had a hero with it the whole game, barbarian lord, not one kill. Still got bonus strength, though, whoopy. And yeah, ogres are so easy to cast and you get so many of them...

I picked up Colonization for $2 off of GoG.

It's amazing, the design is deeply flawed, but Sid Meier "fixes" it with less annoying flaw, putting hard cap on the game once revolution comes...and you have to have a revolution at some point.

Bandar Log is still monkeys. They've got mounted elephants and tigers, though...tigers look pretty good. There's also a "reincarnation" ability, I think it works sort of like immortality, just the killed units come back as smaller monkeys or something. Recruit Anywhere will take a bit, hav...

I guess my Lanka questions would be: any changes to units? Any new units or old units removed? Same national spells? Any new Blood spells/items? Same special Lanka reanimated undead? Here's a guide for quick reference that I wrote if you need to check mage paths. Any changes to Blood are good too. ...

Bottom line, I'm nowhere near you guys' level of expertise in this game. So I dunno about Lanka, since I really never knew the optimal strategies before. That, and it's been 5 years since I played (still have it on my old laptop, tho), so I really can't recall what the exact rules were before. Make ...

After some 36 hours of play in the last two days, a few muddled observations: Skull Mentor is indeed at Construction 6...sheesh, that's way too late. The fire lantern is in the right spot. It seems like I got Skull Staff before then, though--maybe the skill needs to be 3, now? They took the edge rig...

I dunno about 4e's AOEs doing significant damage. Wasn't the fireball basically incapable of killing a goblin?

Dreamblade was collectible, but other than that unrelated to M:TG in design. Monsters were summoned via a more controlled process, "mana screw" was much less likely. There were also no counterspells or sorceries or anything like that. Instead, you played for control of the board, and monst...

What you just said about violence can apply to sex too though. The Lannisters twins straight up have an unsexy, explicit, ridiculous, overwrought relationship that shits all over good taste, and portraying that in ways tawdry and gross communicates things about them that just having Jaime write &qu...

Well, if a player gets to pick the revelation, then it's pretty much worth 3 feats, then.

It's a bit underpriced, as a +5 sword is basically 3 feats as well.

Intelligence, with no precise definition, is impossible to credibly compare across significant cultural or age differences. While an 8 year old can't be expected to take care of himself, there are adults "with the mind of an 8 year old" or so they say, who nonetheless more or less take car...

The Christian god in particular seems to be unable to create a rock too big for it to lift, as evidenced by the fact that it changed all the rules in the New Testament. There is nothing stopping such a being from giving new revelations to Mohammed or Joseph Smith and completely changing all the rul...

The lack of a 4e computer game has more to do with licensing issues with a stuggling Atari than anything else. It's a shame, too, because 4e as a computer game probably would have been pretty viable.

For what it's worth, White Bear and Red Moon was a pretty rockin' board game, more complicated than Divine Right (and with a neat magical combat system), and vastly more playable than SPI's forgettable attempt at a similar game ( Swords and Sorcery , I think). Anyway, White Bear had ducks in it, but...

In Florida, I'd catch the occasional centipede, but it was nothing like those monstrosities.

Here in Louisiana, you can get some pretty hefty millipedes, but still smaller than those lunkers. Are those in Hawaii too?

You might want to consider Roman civil wars, to see how people with no "real" claim to the throne still managed to find a claim and put together an army to give it a whirl. Key to writing a novel is to make progress every day. Once you get a decent layout for what your story is hopefully g...
