Imagine for a moment that you have three basic kinds of powers:
  • Basic Maneuvers: When it is available, you can use it.
  • Edge Maneuvers: When it is available, you can use it against targets you have the Edge on.
  • Limited Maneuvers: When it is available, you can spend your power bar to use it.
And then you make your tide of battle roll, and every number has some options on it. At the least, 2 Basics, an Edge, and a Limited maneuver to choose from. And of course you have the standard set of non-power based options that people have (including such favorites as "opening a door" and "picking up an item" ad crap like that).

The thing that does, is open up a clear distinction between two different characters who can both drop a net of one kind or another on an opponent. If Artemis is able to launch a Net Arrow only as an Edge or Limited Maneuver that goes a long way to keep her from treading on the toes of The Lorax, who can sprout a vine net as a Basic Maneuver. Even if the Net Arrow drops a steel net that is harder to break out of than an ivy constrictor, it's still something that can't be relied upon.

Ah, okay, how about this?

Wet Noise

An experiment created by the Good Works corporation, Wet Noise regained consciousness and freedom amidst an electrical fire he may have inadvertently caused. Now hunted by assassins and running low on the mind-numbing chemical Bender, he searches for answers and the perfect opportunity for revenge before it is too late...

Offense, Basic
Telepathically glean information from target, granting limited-duration edge against said target (scan)
Telepathically commandeer a technological device, granting edge if attacks are channeled through it (new user)
Deal power damage at range, more if done through commandeered technologically device (execute)
Deal mind crush damage at range, more if done against scanned target (exploit)

Offense, Edge
Telekinetically wrench one of the target's appendage at random, causing power damage and a random status effect based on what was pulled (error)
Inflict mind crush damage as an immediate interrupt on a scanned (override)

Offense, Limited Use
* Takes a pill, granting a minor action recovery or attack for a short duration (Bender)
*Causes an opponent to physically disrupted each time they use an edge or limited power (total system failure)

Defense, Basic
Re-route mental attacks and telepathy to a different target (forwarding)
Immediate reaction invisibility when struck by electricity (ghost)
Gives off static electricity when struck by ice, dealing damage to adjacent opponents

Defense, Edge
Turn an opponent's device against him or an ally as a immediate interrupt
Lower the effectiveness of an attacker's attack as an immediate action if you have the edge against him (data injection)
Conjures an astral construct out of an computer to draw attacks from an edged opponent (security program)

Defense, Limited Use
*Turns an active operating system into an astral construct generator (auto-execution)

Movement
Teleportation through electrical wiring (connection)
Teleportation to the location of a scanned target (networking)

Utility
Glean minor information from a target's brain (test scan)
Can remotely turn on or off electrical devices (remote control)
Eidetic recall of information obtained through telepathy (wikipersona)
Invisibility to mental awareness when channeling powers through an electrical medium (untraceable)
Invisibility to technological security devices (techno-invisibility)
Instantaneous computer scanning (instant accesss)
Create a dead zone for electronic transmissions (static)
Obscure one's appearance with mosiac patterning and vocal alteration

Judging__Eagle wrote:Captain Victory needs a moral or boy scout power. That is the classic "super guy", white hat, white knight power.

They are actually virtuous, and get their power from their virtue.

The fact that they won't actually try to kill people intentionally is part and parcel with most capes.
I thought of that a lot, but couldn't think of how that would work. If he gets stronger by doing good deeds then you get scenarios where he can punch out Doomsday with one hand tied behind his back because he spent all of yesterday helping old ladies across the street. It could also be like the Paladin's code, but that just encourages the GM to dick him out of his powers. I also considered giving him the ability to get up or fight harder if people are cheering him on, kinda like Hulk Hogan's Schtick before he went heel, but I can't figure out how that would work.

That's kinda interesting how both me an traverse came up with the idea of capes having mook assistants and being natural leaders. That might have to go into the Cape Schtick.

And now for something completely different.

Penumbra

The minds of evil men are filled with shadows. A man can hide in those, if he is clever enough.

Although he has been a successful hero for several years, not much is known about the mysterious Penumbra. For an explanation why, listen to this report from a criminal who recently was caught by Penumbra.

“What did he look like? That’s hard to say. I did not get a real look at his shape. He was wearing a cloak or coat or robe or something, something that moves around all funny. He was gray all over, or maybe black or dark blue. He just sort of faded in and out of the background. I think he was real tall and thin, but maybe he was short. I also think he was kinda heavy set.

He was definitely wearing a hat though. I remember the hat. It was one of those Lincoln hats you know? But real fancy like with a feather and maybe kinda like those captain hats. You know…on second thought…I am pretty sure he was hatless.”

Penumbra can manipulate the minds of men. He does not really dominate or charm people however, he works more like a stage magician, distracting people just enough to let him do exactly what he wants to do without interference. Penumbra says that he uses suggestions, rather than commands. Many people have mistakenly believed that he was an illusionist rather than a mentalist. He is very effective in battles, but fights in a subtle way so that there will be times when he will be the team’s MVP but looks like he is doing nothing at all.

Offense:

Cloud Thoughts (Debuffs enemies and let allies have the edge)
Clever Blow (A quick attack, powerful strike that works due to Penumbra’s ability to read his opponent)
Shifting Shadows (A more defensive debuff that gives out something like displacement to the team)
Shadow Shackles (A ranged attack that works based on mental distress)

Offense with Edge

Waking Nightmare (Inflicts extreme mental anguish. Powerful debuff that pretty much destroys mooks outright.)
Silencer (massive damage. The sort of thing you use during a stealth mission to take out enemies without giving them the chance to sound the alarm.)

All or Nothing

Mind’s Eye Gouge (Twists the enemies thoughts so that they can’t recognize the heroes as being enemies, or even recognize that they are there at all.)
Sinful Slumber (Overwhelms the mind and forces the target to go into a deep slumber)
Dominate (He finds it distasteful, but sometimes overwhelming an opponent is more viable that subtly influencing them)

Defense

Shroud (Penumbra’s cape or cloak or whatever it is billows constantly and in confusion patterns. Between that and mental attacks he is constantly sending out, fighting Penumbra feels a little like fighting an M.C. Escher painting0

I Knew You Were Going to Do That. (Penumbra’s ability to peak into his opponents mind lets him be a few steps ahead of his foes, and he many times evades an attack before it is even launched.)

Out of combat

Psychic Interrogation
Penumbra can’t exactly read minds, but he can at least see the footnotes and if you have a dark secret in the back of your mind he tends to notice. He is also skilled at making you think he knows everything you are hiding and he knows whom in the underworld he can pump for information.

Psychometry
Penumbra can pick up residual thoughts and feelings from certain objects, especially if they were used by people with a guilty conscience or used during a crime or other stressful occasion. He can get quite a lot of information from a murder weapon for example.

Sweeping it Under the Rug
Ever wonder why villains never try the same plan twice, especially if they almost won the first time? The answer might be a psychic like Penumbra. Penumbra spends quite a lot of time after the battle is over ensuring that it is not repeated. He defends his actions by saying that he is not engaging mind control or brainwashing, he just convinces his foes to forget a few unfortunate facts that imperil the city.

Stealth
He can sneak and hide and stuff. You all know what sneaking is.

Tiger Khan

Many men have thought that hunting the tiger was an act of great bravery, besting a superior predator. Sometimes. The tiger often eluded capture, but men became clever. It brought fire, then iron, then brought them into one. Few tigers can elude the rifle. But very rarely, you find a tiger who not only can... he does it for sport. A man-eater, who turns on his hunters.

Tiger Khan was John "Johnny" William Masterson IV, the cocky son of Johnathan William Masterson III. His old man had been a hunter for his personal amusement, in addition to various other amusements, such as his business, wine, women, and so on, and Johnny was hardly different. But he was even more daring. His father had turned back from one prey. Figuring there was nothing he couldn't beat his old man at, he hunted the man-eater. But the man-eater didn't just kill him... when he was mauled, he not only bore the scars of his failure, he possessed an animal within.

Tiger Khan is in truth little different from Johnny... he is still the lord of the concrete jungle and acts like it. But his fevered dream-state and transformations gave him a different perspective. Now the Khan cares for his subjects, both man and beast.

Notable Traits
A (sometimes erratic) transformation between mere man and tiger-man
A terrifying roar that can demoralize foes until they are sent running
Being really badass and tough and even a bit of lycan-style regeneration
Claws that do double damage versus Roy Horn
A spine-shattering bite
The proportional strength of a tiger! ... in the proportional body of a tiger! Actually, probably stronger in some respects, since he leverages it differently than a tiger can, being upright.
The ability to command the allegiance of lesser creatures of the jungle, or well, mostly other tigers. He's not called tiger khan for nothing, right?
The ability to shoot a gun, though he usually throws things.
A modest amount of business sense
A substantial estate

Oh, and since I forgot a movement power, he climbs and falls on his feet. Every time.

Dr. Impossible
"Everything is just the proper hat to be worn for a while."

Regarded by many as a quack scientist, the attention-seeking Richard Fort, descendant of Charles Fort, retreated to the remote arctic region of Nod in pursuit of the anomalous phenomena he deemed the Impossible factor. Little faith did Richard have in himself, that when he discovered the portal to the Impossible dimension encased in ice, he broke into hysterics, paying little attention to the rapidly cracking prison.

Fortunately, for him, the same cage that contained the portal also held its guardian, the axiomatic amulet called Axiom. Pleading with the scientist, Axiom told Richard that the portal must be sealed at all costs but in exchange, he would gain the fame he desired in a fashion. More out of fear of being obliterated in a pulse of chaos than popularity, Richard donned the thawed Axiom from the ice and became Dr. Impossible!

General Idea
Dr. Impossible, as guardian of Plausibility, against the tide of the Impossible dimension, has been granted the contrary use of those same energies by the enigmatic Powers On High. His access to these forces are not necessarily limitless. Though Axiom, there are some things that Dr. Impossible cannot do with this power, the Powers on High deeming them that offensive.

In laymen terms, Dr. Impossible can alter the rules of reality (the game) with some important caveats...

All rewrites are instantaneous in duration or temporary at best.
He can only rewrite one word or number.
He can only rewrite slightly (no more than one degree of change or a single dice).
He cannot rewrite more than one thing at a time (most of his powers are either standard action or lockout the use of similar abilities until the start of his next turn).
He absolutely cannot grant role-specific capabilities to other roles.

Offense, Basic
Hurls a bolt of axiomatic energy, dealing spirit damage (axiom blast)
Full-round action to gain edge against an opponent for a duration (calibrate)

Offense, Edge
Increase the damage of his axiomatic blast against an edged opponent (axiomatic smite)
Change the damage type of his axiom blast against an edged foe (pure chemistry)
Use a standard action attack as a minor action attack against an edged opponent
Grants an ally the use of an immediate reaction ability as an immediate interrupt against said opponent

Offense, Limited
For the remainder of a scene, grant increased duration to an edged offensive power
*Add a keyword to the next power he uses

Defense, Basic
Immediate action edge against attacker until the start of his next turn (cause and effect)

Defense, Edged
As an immediate reaction, reduce the damage an edged opponent does
As an immediate reaction, change the damage type of an edged opponent's attack

Defense, Limited
For the remainder of a scene, increases the duration of an edged opponent's afflicted power
*Repeals a keyword from an opponent's power for some duration

Movement
Teleportation but not safe blind
Long distance teleportation through the Sea of Sargasso, takes time

Utility
Sense axiomatic and anarchic energies by sight
Given enough time, he can perform impossible transmutations

And then there's his nemesis "Professor Possible", who can expound at great length about how that simply won't work, thus rendering your super powers inoperative.

The Bishop

Post by deathdealingjawa »

From what I can tell Mentalist specialize in controlling information (Psychic Interrogation, Psychometry, Techno-Invisibility, Static) and giving Edges/debuffs (Scan, New User, Cloud Thoughts, Shifting Shadows). Here is my take on the Bishops abilities, true he isn't doing any of it but he is still acting within his role for the most part.

The Bishop

Robert Oliver Shipman is an Anabaptist military chaplain but is referred to by his company as "The Bishop". Robert Oliver Shipman a military chaplain who performed the funeral for his company which died defending our universe from a invasion force from the Magic World. After the invaders had destroyed his company, the chaplain was the only one standing between the invading forces and a small rural town. Those of Magic World attacked him with claw, spell, and arrows; but each blow was deflected, each spell was defused, and each arrow was broken mid flight. The ghostly figures of his fallen comrades soon started to appear around the chaplain. The ghost struck at the invaders, some tried to attack the ghost but only hurt their allies, others were so terrified that they soon became possessed. after the battle was over the chaplain looked over the corpse of the enemy wizard he crying out "why here, why now?" to the chaplain's great surprise/horror he got a response.

Attack
Shell Shock: The ghosts are able to spook someone enough to grant a party member an Edge against them.
The Unknown: the ghosts quickly manifest and then disappear placing a fear debuff on a group of enemies.

Edge
Fragged: target must be under debuff effect. the ghosts unleash their frustration on the weak spirited foe, causing it to perform one attack against their highest ranking ally (enemy attacks enemy leader).
Chains of Command: The ghost bind an enemy and crush it with spiritual chains.
Army of One: Target takes more damage from any source.

Limited Use
Catch 22: the ghosts are able to bind themselves to the essence of aggressor, making it so a limited duration any attack they perform are reflected back on them in turn (The BBEG deals 2 damage takes 2 damage).
Kamikaze: The ghost rip into the essence of an opponent, if the foe is rendered disabled by the damage an aoe of high damage is triggered.

Defense
The Veil: The ghosts are able to block a portion incoming physical attacks.
The Officers Club: The ghosts reside in the Bishop's mind and can be call to defend it against mental assaults.

Out of Combat
Permission to Speak Freely: Makes a dead foe able to speak for a few minutes (the foe is indifferent if the power is used like this).
Status Report: While PSF is still active on a dead target the Bishop can force the subject to answer one question truthfully, their soul immediately departs once their answer has been given.
Borderlands: The Bishop is able to transport those in direct physical contact with him, or through a circle of contact to a place between the world of the living and the dead (think the D&D spell magic rope).

Snap
"This is my city, and you will leave. If you wish, I will escort you to the next life."

The teenage defender of Navamach, famous for standing alone in defense of the city against Queen Maive's army of metahumans, when she led them across the border in the hunt for the traitor, Tannhauser's Venus. He was discovered in a Navamach orphanage at an early age by Linerunner, the city's previous protector, who took him under her tutelage. He took up her spear when she was killed in the Ascendant's War.

Offense
Shoots arcs of lightning out of his spear. (Lightning, Basic)
Swings his spear in a wide arc, knocking away multiple enemies. (Power, Basic)
Uses momentum to fling an object far heavier than he can normally lift at a foe, dazing them. (Power, Edge)
Can throw his spear at a foe, pinning them to the nearest solid surface. (Lightning, Edge)
Enters an incredible rage that tears at his physical self, and attacks every foe in sight. For a certain amount of time during and after this power, his impassible wall ability has an extended range and duration. (Distortion, Limited)

Defense
Dodges things, ...dodgily.
Can sidestep close range powers, gaining use of a basic power against the attacker.

Movement
Speeeeeeed!

Utility
Can use his speed to keep foes at bay, making an impassible wall on the field.
Can purposefully impose himself between an ally and his attacker, taking the damage meant for his ally. Can use a basic power for free against the attacker.
He can track anyone he has met before, and will always locate them in less than a day, anywhere on the planet.

And updates for Bruce and Maive, for the different attack types.
Bruce Avec Pitié
"We're meant for better things."

Andrew Bruce, the youngest mayor ever to be elected in Acropyrgos, was burying his wife on that fateful day when the Silent Historian, arguably the most powerful sorcerer of the Silver Age, leveled a majority of the docks district. Caught in a crossfire, and confronted by the Historian herself, Bruce was caught under the might of a terrible spell which permanently enclosed him in an unbreakable, spherical forcefield. That was over three decades ago. Over time, he's learnt to control and make use of his curse to affect the world around him.

Offense
Slams into foes with the sphere. (Power, Basic)
Makes use of the power that builds up naturally in the sphere, and shoots a blast of energy at a single foe, dazing them and disrupting their movement abilty. (Laser, Edge)
Does severe damage to the environment around a foe, striking them with debris and obscuring the area with dust. (Power, Edge)
Slams into the ground in a violent manner, sending out a large shockwave. (Explosion, Limited)

Defense
The sphere, although looking quite forcefield-y, grants Toughness.
Due to constant fluctuations in the sphere, even if a hold style ability manages to successfully target him, it won't last long.

Movement
Acrobatics. Can reduce the weight of his sphere, and move it rapidly enough, to ramp off of most anything.

Utility
Can change the weight of the sphere between extremes, adding to either his power or dodging capability.
Can effectively stop anything solid when on the ground, given sufficient space, if he can place the sphere between it and whatever it's colliding towards.
No amount of physical compression on the sphere can break it.
A modicum of immortality. He hasn't eaten, drank, or expelled any waste since the curse's inception. The suit he wore to the funeral isn't looking so hot, though.
Manages to make anyone around him increasingly depressed.

Queen Maive
"A good leader makes effective use of all her resources."

Easily pushed to jealousy, and incredibly protective of what she has, Queen Maive considers Acropyrgos to be her city, and she its true, sole protecter. After her rise to popularity, she took the Shining Spire as her own, the long standing tower of white stone amongst the skyscrapers, after which the city that grew up around it owes its name. She and her small army of thugs and metahumans keep the peace for the city leaders who appease her.

Offense
Uses supernatural sonic blasts that rip through foes. (Soulburn, Basic)
Strikes at foes as she flies past. (Speed, Basic)
Uses sonic waves to temporarily Daze foes. (Soulburn, Edge)
Skilled at striking unexpextedly, knocking back a foe and vanishing from sight. (Speed, Edge)
Shapes her screams to amplify their power, confusing foes in range. (Mindcrush, Limited)

Defense
Keeps to the air, attempting to dodge whatever comes her way.
Can place a mook between her and a foe, the mooking taking the hit that was meant for her.

Movement
Flight. She flies.

Utility
Mook powah. (Free research, comm network, info gathering.)
Minor suggestive abilities outside of combat.

Here's Marquis d'Mar. I might also do Red Menance as well (I'm thinking of her as a living disease created by Soviet scientists, but we'll see).

Marquis d'Mar
"In order to know virtue, we must first acquaint ourselves with vice."

Reckless and alone, the adventurous celebrity playboy and philathronpist Marlin Fairchild was captured one day while he was exploring an closed off section of the French catacombs.

His captors were ecstasy cultists intent on resurrecting their long dead icon, the Marquis de Sade. Marlin struggled to escape his fate but he was quickly subdued, murdered, his heart then torn from his chest and placed within the grisly receptacle of the cult's resurrection magics.

Yet, something went wrong. Despite the foulness of his undead form, Marlin's good heart won through. Expecting a kindred spirit, the cultists were surprised when the zombie rose and with its hideous strength, barreled into their rank, sending them scattering. Marlin used the resulting confusion to escape into the shadows. His old life now closed off to him, Marlin Fairchild would not into a monster. No, he would became a terror against the forces of evil...the Marquis d'Mar!

Offense
Moderate power damage, small chance of causing paralysis effect - opponent is edged if paralyzed (grasp)
Small power damage at limited range, small chance of causing stun - opponent is edged if stunned (spank)
Augmented melee damage for each consecutively successful attack against a single opponent - edges opponent on the third strike (harass)

Offense, Edge
Does lingering damage against edged opponent (sadism)
Can make a weak opportunity attack against an adjacent edged opponent struck by an ally (helping hand)
Immediate reaction move towards edged opponent and fear effect (lurch)

Offense, Limited
immediate interrupt, when an opponent would be assisted, healed, or buffed by one of their allies, the marquis strikes them for severe power damage instead; the assisting ally loses their turn (naughty surprise)
Remove the marquis' opponent from the field temporarily, when he returns; the opponent is severely damaged and the marquis is healed by an equal amount; do note that the marquis is still on the field (now that we're all alone...)

Defense
Minor action to devour a brain and heal (brain food)
Package of undead immunities (unliving)
Heightened damage resistance against bludgeoning damage (work mule)

Defense, Edge
Concealment against edged opponent when in or adjacent to shadowy areas (shadowy stalker)
Immediate reaction regeneration when struck by an edged opponent (masochism)

Defense, Limited
if the marquis alone is targeted by an attack action, the marquis as an immediate interrupt can force his opponent to move away instead; this also inflicts him with a fear effect that lasts the duration of the skirmish; for the rest of the adventure, should the opponent be fought against, they lose their next standard action upon spotting the marquis (fear the reaper)
Auto-regeneration and resurrection (back from the dead)

Movement
Sinks into the earth and travels expediently that way (teleportation through natural soil, takes time)
Blinks from one point of shadow/darkness to another that's within his line of sight

Utility
Temporarily ignored by non-sentient undead outside of their master's control
Can lower the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere to a chill
Can sense the living by sight, through walls and the like
Encyclopedia of erotic works and seedy underbellies

source clarifcation

Post by deathdealingjawa »

I just want to make sure I understand what frank meant with "power" as one of the attack types. Is "power" a thing with a significant amount of force behind it that stays intact for the most part? For example getting hit by a truck would be considered "power", while getting hit with a rocket would be considered "explosion".

Yes. It also scales down. So a baseball bat is a small Power attack and a bottle rocket is a small Explosion attack.

I was wondering if someone could explain the differences between the attack types Mindcrush, Shadow, and Soulburn. Does frank even want us to use his old chart (the one with his toe next to it) for damage types?

Mindcrush is mentally-based damage. So if Jean Grey or Charles Xavier were to psychic your mind into unconsciousness, that would be Mindcrush damage.

Shadow is described as like a "negative energy" (in the "energy, but with a negative sign" sense) - stuff like draining lifeforce and gravity and such.

The protected role I envision for Blasters is being able to lower defense of their target, making it easier for other to damage their target.

Fluff:
Tyler Bonnie had a Doctorate in Lasers and was a hit pop singer who was accompanied by his phenomenal laser light show, he was considered the best entertainer in all of Wales. His to be on the path for performer of the year, until his famous encounter with the Critic. The Critic became famous for the seven other rising stars he had killed. While Tyler was receiving the award for Best New Performer, the Critic set off a series of blasts that left Tyler alive but unable to sing ever again. After that Tyler decided to put his knowledge of Lasers to use for justice. He spent most of his royalties buying equipment, perfecting his light based storage system, and putting his space laser in orbit. Using a mask, 2 cans of aqua net, and his prismatic coat he fights crime as Positron giving the underworld a performance they will never forget.

Basic
Targeting: locks on to the target, granting Positron edge (laser)
Out of Focus: deals weak damage to an area of foes (laser)
In Focus: deals moderate damage against a single target. (laser)
Go for the Eyes: focuses the beam into the eyes of the target causing to be blinded/dazed (laser)
Flash Dance: his suit flares like it's 1989 reducing in a group of enemy's accuracy for a round (lasers)

Edge:
Crossing the Streams: Hits the enemy dealing and reduces the effectiveness of their force field related defenses. (laser)
Moon Beam: creates a energy that causes all of the targets muscles to work in reverse stunning the target. (mindcrush)

Limited
Big budget: orbital laser cannon/ massive solder cannon (like Ironman's from MvC 1) doing massive vertical damage in a small horizontal zone/ doing massive horizontal damage in a small vertical zone. (laser)
Going Plaid: open a window to the Astral Void/other dimensions (photons, only, of course) causing massive mindcrush damage to those who see it. (think weird) (mindcrush)

Defense, Basic:
Total Eclipse: when attacked in melee personal defense lasers go off like a powder keg reducing the attacks accuracy.
SomeThingHere

Defense, Limited
A New Hope: uses a personal laser defense system to blast hostile projectiles (force field)
Reflections Point: able to redirect a basic or edge laser/electric attack against that was focused against himself (Positron), to any other target.

Movement:
X:able to tunnel through most objects using his lasers

Non Combat
X: Able to detect teleportation
X:Able to capture an image and replicate it in 3d
X:Casts silent image for all intensive purposes as long as his lasers can get to it.
Wardrobe Change: able to change into disguises quickly

I can't honestly imagine "debuffing" being a valid role to protect. It's as generic as "buffing" and thus equally hard to draw a line around.

I was thinking of one of the roles blasters have focus on lower defense, everyone else can use other debuffs. Maybe have it where they are able to deal to deal damage and apply a defense debuff at the same time.

When Frank said "role protection" does he mean a thing no one else can do, or just them being able to do it better then anyone else? If it is the first then the need for specifics like no one besides controllers can do aoe holds could be a valid argument. If the "role protection" is just the ability to do it better than the other roles, the idea of combining actions could be a better idea. for instance capes, mentalist, sorcerer and the occasional suit can all fly, but have it where only capes can do an action and move at the same time, or use their defensive powers while air born.

Red Menace

The product of Soviet genetic engineering, Red Menace was once an lowly numbered ward raised at the secret training facility known as Crimson Cradle. Indoctrinated and trained to be one of the many tools at the disposal of the Central Committee, Citizen #66 leaped at the chance to differentiate herself from her similarly skilled peers. Placed in the latest wonder wrought by Communist science, the Viral Transmogrifier, #66's physical form was broken and replaced by sentient cluster of the archaic plague known only as Prospero's Folly. The experiment completed, Citizen #66 saw no need to open the door. Simply spilling through the hermetically sealed doors of the Transmogrifier, it was clear she was no longer human, but a living biological weapon and superheroine, the terrifying Red Menace.
