Sizing on wondrous items of holding?

Post by Failbhe »

I am looking at a bag of holding for a tiny sized Petal. The mental image of this tiny Petal trying to cart around a two foot by four foot bag is just plain silly.

My first inclination is to simply go with quarter dimensions for everything. But changing the bag, haversack, ect, per sizing as you would with any other item breaks them, especially if you would allow larger sizing as well.

Any suggestions?

Portable hole. Fold it up to be as big as a handkerchief and you can wear it as a dress.

The quartering might be problematic in the general case, but is probably fine in this case (although a bit overpriced).

Get an Enveloping Pit from the MiC, then. It's like a portable hole, but deeper, and for about a sixth of the price.

That price may be a typo, or maybe they realized that a portable hole isn't worth 20,000 gp and this is they're stealth fix.

...

Yeah, that's probably a typo. It's objectively better then a normal portable hole in every way, except the part where you need to be approximately lawful evil to use it.

It's not a typo. There's no real correlation between price and power in the MIC. Also, it's a Relic, so it gets to be more powerful to balance the feature that prevents your enemies from picking it up and using it.
