Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
You know, I'll just go ahead and say it: I am not okay with even joking about killing off old people in a particularly horrible way just to get rid of a small, psychotic subset of them.

I'm okay with killing everybody.
However the real "good people" here would probably argue that that is a terrible plan. Besides, I'm sure the Teabaggers have some kind of "But I still get all my stuff!" plan.

What horrible? We're just talking about letting them die to old age or whatever wracks their ancient bodies. Hell, we're talking about giving them what they secretly want.Caedrus wrote:You know, I'll just go ahead and say it: I am not okay with even joking about killing off old people in a particularly horrible way just to get rid of a small, psychotic subset of them.
I mean, really, Why so serious?

It always seems disingenuous that you never see Tea-Partiers protest Medicare/Medicaid or the US's massive military spending. Also if they really wanted to be revolutionary why are all their candidates Republicans, you can hate the Democrats but just on the Republican's track record they are no better.
Part of me wishes this Tea-Party was headed by Ron Paul. I think Libertarianism fails for the same reasons that Communism fails and the world needs an example of a country adopting it and failing, for that ideology to die and be consigned to crazy college professors for ever more.

Well, during the primaries, Tea Party upsets happened because the Republican candidate was painted as too moderate or just as bad as the Dems. I mean, of course they're still going to run Republican. They're not stupid (well, they are, but for different reasons ). Running third party would split the vote and almost certainly hand victory over to Democratic candidates.Juton wrote:It always seems disingenuous that you never see Tea-Partiers protest Medicare/Medicaid or the US's massive military spending. As for the military and Medicare/Medicaid spending, there's two schools of thought (depending on the candidate):
1) They really aren't small government. They're actually small government in terms of public affairs and big government in terms of private affairs, or
2) They actually would like to repeal Medicare/Medicaid, as well as other nuisances such as the 40-hour-work week and OSHA.
It's all a matter of how they sell it. If they go too far off the deep end, they don't get elected.

Re: Solution to the Tea Party.
you know, that's close to something (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) that Jefferson said. I don't know the exact quote, but I believe he said something along the lines that you can't have any changes until the oldest generation dies.Psychic Robot wrote:1. Abolish Medicare because socialism.

He also said we need a bloody revolution every 20 years, or so, and that we should free the slaves (while keeping a fair number himself...)Count Arioch the 28th wrote:you know, that's close to something (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) that Jefferson said. Isn't the "Solution to the Tea Party" to have better ideas, organize, and get those ideas to the fore?
Maybe instead of posting crackpot schemes on an obscure internet message board you could become part of the process.
(Without becoming another brick in the wall of course, because we all realize how special you are).

You don't understand how grass roots stuff works, do you, Clutch? It kinda starts this way, crackpot shit said on a small internet forum, then rolls into larger and larger stuff.

I don't want to see the Den party. Like ever. Instead of pork barrel spending, it would have barrels of cocks. Whenever someone talks about breaking something the Den party would scream Sundertard at them. And its party line would be boobies for everyone.Prak_Anima wrote:You don't understand how grass roots stuff works, do you, Clutch? Someone back me up here, that sounds like the greatest party ever. Senators yelling at rivals "Learn to listen jackwad! Go suck a barrel of cocks!"... Representatives trolling Tea-Partiers saying it's a social experiment... attorney generals just laughing in the faces of people opposed to their politics... it'd be the most honest politics ever...Roy wrote:I don't want to see the Den party. I'm warming to this notion. TGD party. Yeah!
A rooster upon a barrel shall be our logo... Except I just voted moments ago (only a <1 block walk to the poling place) and apparently the democrat animal logo in Indiana is a rooster, republicans got a hawk... maybe we could get the crow as our mascot?
I honestly do hope that in the next 10 years some sort of internet party of sanity will arise and grassroots/flashmob the shit out of conventional politics and we finally see change in our shitty capitalistic oligarchy that is aimed towards becoming a banana republic.

...of course, I'm biased towards corvids...
And yeah, eventually some kind of internet party should pop up.

It might sound off-putting when we have our Murder Flashmobs, but well... go suck a barrel of cocks!
To retreat to the original topic for a moment, giving the Tea Party what they want might not be a solution to them, but it sure feels like karmic justice.

"Then I say, the earth belongs to each of these generations during its course, fully and in its own right. The second generation receives it clear of the debts and incumbrances of the first, the third of the second, and so on. For if the first could charge it with a debt, then the earth would belong to the dead and not to the living generation. Then, no generation can contract debts greater than may be paid during the course of its own existence." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:455, Papers 15:393
It's not really true, of course, but it has nuggets of truth. For instance, I agree with Dinosaur Comics that we will only (truly) solve racism by educating the younger generation about tolerance (and hell, sanity) and waiting for all the bigots to die of old age.

On a side note, does anyone have that quote where Ludwig von Mises talks about how empiricism is bunk and all you need is faith in the free market?
