OSSR Request Thread
Here is the thread in which you post requests for mega-reviews and whatnot. This is not the thread that compiles them, though we probably need one of those, too.
Anyway, on my list of Lago requests/things I want to do sometime if I'm not lazy:
Star Wars d6 (we have some scattered threads, no OSSR)
Mouseguard
The Star Trek TTRPG
Exalted: Lunars 1E
3E D&D Eberron Campaign Setting
d20 Modern & Urban Arcana
Mutants and Masterminds d20

Your freedom to run/play a game without needing to understand a complex rule system is in direct conflict with my freedom to play a character whose abilities and flaws function as I intended within that ruleset. Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.
In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.
Is Urban Arcana the one that has the preacher mind flayer, the gangster mind flayer + bugbears and multiple pictures of Maddie in her thong? I seem to recall it being "This has such awesome art, I wish the actual text could be even half as awesome and not a massive bowel movement".

Some of those are in the d20M core book, but yeah.Koumei wrote:Is Urban Arcana the one that has the preacher mind flayer, the gangster mind flayer + bugbears and multiple pictures of Maddie in her thong? Don't bother trying to impress gamers. They're too busy trying to impress you to care.
I would again like to restate my request for reviews of Rifts books, especially the more insane ones.
Everything I learned about DnD, I learned from Frank Trollman.

I'd say 10 years. Or so.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

I may try to get the drunk review people voted for me to do done tonight. The only issue is... I have class tomorrow morning.
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

I'd like to put in another vote for d20 Modern and Urban Arcana.
I had a signature here once but I've since lost it.

anything OOP it seems. so 4th edition and 4E are old school from what i have been told and see since DDN exist in some form.Desdan_Mervolam wrote:What's the cutoff for OSSR anyway? How old does a book have to be to be considered 'Old School"?
Play the game, not the rules.
good read (Note to self Maxus sucks a barrel of cocks.)

I've got a hankerin for Rifts World Book One Vampire Kingdoms... tho every time I try to sit down and work on it, wife and/or kids intervene. I'm still on the damn introduction. =-o
[edit: I'm pretty much done but need to do some finishing touches and scans of a couple pages for funsies... dang it is slow going doing this between full time work, parenting two crazy boys and such. I'm wishing I'd done this with one of my role playing buddies since that would have added more flair]

I did Draconomicon. If I recall correctly, Libris Mortis was the next monster book released. Anyone mind if I do that one?

By all means, go for it!

Having finished battlesystem, I'd like to do an OSSR for a proper 2e product, see how much of the nostalgia is justified. I'm thinking of one of the following, and taking requests. Even if one gets a few requests, it might still be a week or 4 before it gets started though...
[*]DM Option: High-Level Campaigns - While Dragon Kings may have been the first time in 2e that they toyed with 21+ material (that I know of), this is where they went and did it for the general game. And also where they tried to talk to the DM about what a high level game looks like.
[*]Chronomancer - Time traveling wizard shenanigans. New classes, new spells, time travel mechanics, and time travel campaign suggestions. It's written by Loren L. Coleman...
[*]Shaman - Someone decided that druids and clerics didn't cover the "commune with and bind spirits to get powers from them" theme, so they wrote some new priest classes to do that. More new spells, campaign stuff, etc.
[*]Nothing - It might be the case that you we have enough OSSRs right now or you hate the words that come out of my mouth. And since I have plenty of other things to be doing, it's fine if you don't want me to waste my time with another OSSR.

The wiki you should be linking to when you need a wiki link - http://www.dnd-wiki.org
