"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

Yeah, I'm not going to yuck someone else's yum, but that's a little out there, even by my tastes.

I would order one on the condition that the rest of the human body was made available with a range of various genitals to assemble them into a full sex voltron.

The footvag's connected to the shindick. The shindick's connected to the thighbung. The thighbung's connected to the butt-tounge, that that's the song of the something something.

My only problem with this is that it looks way too much like a severed, bleeding foot. The orifice doesn't look different enough from bone marrow or just the plan old... not femur, but whatever is below the kneed.

Stick that orifice on the side or bottom and I'm fine with this. I feel like that would be more in keeping with the way enthusiasts experience the foot anyway.

Yeah, that is a severed foot that happens to be fuckable. That seems less like a sex toy for foot fetishists and more like a sex toy for a serial killer.

Maybe that's by design since it won't sell like that, they make serial killer sex toys and market em as a foot fetish or somesuch.

Yeah, there's a japanese toy that is literally the same exact concept, but with the entry point on the bottom, which has been around for a while.

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

If you mean the start screen, yeah. It looks likely to be replaced by a start menu that can run the live tiles if you care about those things. And all of the metro apps will run windowed on the desktop, like they always should have.

If you're referring to other shitty interface bits, you'll need to be more specific.

Just the start screen. Had the misfortune of experiencing Win8 this week as I installed Steam on my nephew's PC. Gonna see about installing Classic Shell as he doesn't seem to care for the interface either. And assorted other free software.

Upgrading to 8.1 update 1 (Fuck that naming scheme btw) may help a bit in the meantime, if he isn't already. Still a full screen start thing, but a much more workable desktop.

Yes, they are basically doing what they should have done with 8.
A mostly classical desktop on desktop computers that have no touch screen.
The back and forth between the start screen and the classic desktop on hybrid devices.
The start screen on tablets that only have a touch screen.
That's the closest you could have gotten to perfect aside from simply letting people chose what kind of UI they want on their device either on first boot or install <.<

I find literally endless amounts of entertainment from people failing to understand a comment that points out their own hypocrisy.

Like, my favorite part: “It’s just funny, though, Michael Moore is now this theologian, citing Jesus in every public statement,” co-host Tucker Carlson opined. “I don’t remember him citing Jesus on abortion or gay marriage, do you?

Uh... you believe Jesus has a strong take on lives, and that we should follow them, Michael Moore bringing up your beliefs does not mean he follows them, and therefore obviously does not mean he needs to bring up your beliefs when you are allegedly acting on them, just when you are obviously not.

I bring this up because I have run into this a fuck ton recently, and it is really fucking hilarious every time that these people apparently are too stupid to even grasp the argument being made at them/joke being made about them.

Along the more focused line of discussion in that piece: MERIKA FUCK YEAH! SAVING THE WORLD WITH OUR POLICING! NO OTHER COUNTRY IS CAPABLE OF POLICING THEMSELVES, THEY ALL RELY ON MERIKA!

Sometimes I wonder if it isn't all part of some brilliant strategy to defeat the concept of satire and parody by just being more stupid than anyone could believe you would be.

if I remember correctly, the oft-shouted statistics that global inequality and poverty and so on plummeted over the past 50 years or whatever immediately becomes false if you exclude socialist countries, so there's that. I can't find the relevant data, but given the degree to which China and Russia would tilt any hypothetical demographic inquiry, it sounds reasonable.

Isn't there a poll somewhere that demonstrated exactly that happening? Not the brilliant strategy part, but the part where conservatives are so fucking insane you cannot get people to believe that they've said the things they've actually said.

I live in a country where possessing, selling, smoking and growing cannabis is technically against the law. But we do have a policy that basically says you're free to smoke, sell and possess it in limited quantities. But you're not allowed to grow it.

Growing cannabis apparently takes a lot of electricity, so people tend to steal it. If they get caught stealing electricity they'll have to pay post factum. But tax free.

So currently, stealing electricity and getting caught is still cheaper than paying for electricity in the place.
