"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

Yes. To be fair, I knew of the website and just did a structure search.Starmaker wrote:So...
It took you six minutes to locate a molecule that looks like a penis, post a message and edit it in an attempt to fix the link.
Oh, the magic of the Internet.
And now my search history is forever stained with "molecule that looks like a penis".
It's not up yet, I'll ask Mara about it.Josh_Kablack wrote:There's photos of the blockbuilt mecha squid on facebook somewhere, maybe DC could post a link or something....Quantumboost wrote:Transcripts plz

This thread is still alive?
Fine. In response to the original question:
1. Be approached by an existing RPG group member who wants to run a game bumped up to an AO rating, a far cry from the group standard.
2. Laugh in their face. Upon realizing that they are serious, laugh more.
3. Demand to be allowed to play a eunuch mage-type-class of a race covered in spikes/spines and with the ability to use a magical attack of some kind even if held immobile.
4. If polymorphed into something else, declare that my PC goes mad and is now an NPC.
5. Demand a version of Fire Shield that deals hellfire damage and contingently activates when PC is knocked out.
6. Establish that the PC has made a pact with a demon lord that will destroy his soul in the event of his death.
7. Declare victory

People, in general, are terrible. The base nature of man is bad. Were people able to go about like a river thinking no thought but for those based in righteousness, that would be good, but such is not human nature.
Thus, I do not play with terrible people.
I simply play. People are people.

"Come... Submit... Obey... I am your friend and master. Your thoughts are like water to me."
No. Anyone who thinks those "contingencies" are needed in their game should drop their players, and fast. Those are bad people, you need to find better people - which is not hard.Molochio wrote:People, in general, are terrible. The base nature of man is bad. Yeah. Lay off the Nietzsche and find pleasant people to hang around. Though it's said a lot of people who feel that all humans are innately vile are really only reflecting on themselves and unable to comprehend that others are different. So it's possible (and I say this with zero psychiatric training, likewise personal knowledge of you, so take it as an incontrovertible FACT) that you are in fact the terrible one.

Then if the base nature of man is bad, then your definition of "bad" is meaningless and you should redefine it.Molochio wrote:The base nature of man is bad.
Although I am still in search of what it means to be moral, I am fairly certain that wanting to commit anal rape isn't a defining feature of humanity and thus would be just fine to define as "bad".
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.

Actually, that was a hypothetical scenario. I was saying how I would likely react if someone in my existing RPG group approached me with the idea that they wanted more focus on what people rubbed their genitals on in game. Perhaps I should have phrased that more clearly. The idea is to make them appallingly aware of the worse-case turn out of the idea (not worst case, that would be FATAL), and then somewhat humorously indicate that I refuse to take part in it.Koumei wrote:...you play with terrible people.
Ideally, the hypothetical RPG group member will still show some enthusiasm for the idea of a more sexual game after I finish laughing. Thats when I give them a character sample in order to check whether I can see any dawning horror in their expression. So, sort of a cross between Just Say No and trolling.
Huh. Now that I think about it, this sounds sort of like how one MC's game rather abruptly ended a couple weeks ago. But with idiotic aboleth armies instead of genitals.
Mature people simply say "Sorry, I don't like to play that kind of game", and mature people will accept that (and probably look for another game). Immature people react like you, but then, one shouldn't play games with such immature people anyway, they tend to make a mess.Avoraciopoctules wrote:Actually, that was a hypothetical scenario. No more ero-RPGs, that's just too dangerous,
Cause a Side Hug turn to a Front Hug turn to some Cocaine turn to some Angel Dust,
Man, ero-RPGs are a slippery slope,
Everybody started playing them, now they're doin' the dope,
So I got a new option, I'll explain it in rap,
There's no touching involved, and it's called the Air Slap.
So don't cry to the Lord when you get date-rape drugged,
Cause any kind of hug is a gateway hug,
No touchin'

I have to say, whenever I play a Cleric of Loviatar, if it's a game-with-sex then I get more invested in the character: seeking people out to socialise with and convert is a lot more fun when you don't have to just fade-to-black the entire conversion process. And the religious rivalry/war between them and the church of Sune! Oh the things I could tell you (but won't).
So not only does that make the game more enjoyable for its own reasons, it also results in me putting more effort into the character's goals and her coming across as an actual religious person in the setting, and not "An adventurer who casts Divine Power".

Ditto. We've got a similar cleric in our campaign.Koumei wrote:I have to say, whenever I play a Cleric of Loviatar, if it's a game-with-sex then I get more invested in the character: seeking people out to socialise with and convert is a lot more fun when you don't have to just fade-to-black the entire conversion process.
