Turn and run, slamming the door behind us.

ABORT ABORT ABORT
RUN BACK OUT
Mord, on Cosmic Horror wrote:Today if I say to the man on the street, "Did you know that the world you live in is a fragile veneer of normality over an uncaring universe, that we could all die at any moment at the whim of beings unknown to us for reasons having nothing to do with ourselves, and that as far as the rest of the universe is concerned, nothing anyone ever did with their life has ever mattered?" his response, if any, will be "Yes, of course; now if you'll excuse me, I need to retweet Sonic the Hedgehog." Room #1
Margo returns, closing the door behind her. She does not feel as if she breathed enough of the gas to effect her.

I'd say we wait a few minutes to catch our breath and then go into the rightmost door on the north wall?

(rightmost from our original perspective, so door number three rather than door number one)

Room 4
Opening the door, Margo sees that beyond it is a rectangular room, some 30 feet wide and 40 feet long. Directly opposite her is another door, apparently the only exit. The only feature in the room is a large clay pot.

How far away is it?

I don't trust that pot, it might have some nasty and urnexpected surprises waiting for us.

I say just go for the door.
Is this wretched demi-bee
Half asleep upon my knee
Some freak from a menagerie?
No! It's Eric, the half a bee

I vote for examining the pot, as I can't think of any pun not to.

The pot is just to the right of the opposite door. From here, you can see that it has a ceramic lid with a vertical slot in it, sized so that a coin might easily fit through it.

I take it our GP is in the form of, well, GP rather than smaller currencies, so we can't intentionally insert a copper/silver/electrum coin instead of a gold one.

Insert coin to continue.

The coin fits easily in the slot. It lands with a clink of metal on metal.

Are there any holes in the walls, the ceiling or the floor?

Proceed through the far door. (We can smash the pot for its contents on the way out, if we survive that long.)

No, they all appear to be smooth, dressed stone blocks.

Then I agree with angel and say that we peer into the next room

Corridor #2
The door opens to a corridor that is on a slant, heading off at a 45 degree angle (relative to the door) to the right.

I think pots are just one of the random containers loot is stored in and you're all over thinking this, loot the pot before pressing on.

Nah, as angel said, we can get it later
AncientHistory wrote:The door opens to a corridor that is on a slant, heading off at a 45 degree angle (relative to the door) to the right.
so the corridor goes to the right and down? is that correct?

To the right and away. If opening the door is 12 o'clock, the corridor takes off toward 1:30. It is still level.

The torchlight extends about 30 feet. No sign of doors or monsters in that space.

Then I'll say: onwards!
