The Jester has access to a 2nd level spell called Teleport Trap. What does that do?

There's a spell in the PHB 2 called "Teleport square" or some such. Or might be in the Spell Compendium. You turn a section of the floor into a short-range teleporter

Either way, I think that's the Teleport Trap spell.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Scattering Trap PHB II pg 123-124 is my best guess.

It is not in the SC. I do not have PHB II. Don;t suppose someone could post the write up for your favorite admin?

Well, teleport trap is a spell in Pathfinder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spell ... eport-trap)... but that kind of association with Pathfinder without any explanation doesn't make sense.

Anyways, I looked through the PHB II. The T's start at thunder shield, so it's not there either.

Assuming no one can find the spell in question, I'd use the rules for baleful transposition, found in the Spell Compendium, with the change that the two target locations are 5-foot cubes in space that are triggered by someone entering the area as opposed to two targeted creatures. A creature entering one "side" of the teleport trap who fails a Will save is transported to the other side instantly. Said trap openings are obviously not visible unless you're detecting magic.

Set out the obvious caveat that neither designated square can be inside a solid object, choose a maximum range apart that the two ends can be (I'd go with close range, 25 ft + 5 ft/2 CLs), and decide whether or not both trap ends have to be within line-of-sight and you're good to go. As for duration, I'd go with 1 hour/CL or until triggered--or you could do a shorter duration (like 1 round/CL) but have it be infinitely triggerable. (This could create a hilarious Portal-esque falling loop, especially if you assume momentum is conservated...at least until the spell's duration expires.)

Found the one I was thinking of:

Scattering Trap
Conjuration (Teleportation)
Sorceror/Wizard 3
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Close range
Area: 1 five foot square per two levels
Duration: 1 round/level
Reflex negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell imbues a number of 5-foot squares you designate with a teleportation trap. A creature moving through one of these squares and failing its saving throw is teleported 1d6 squares in a random direction (use the Missing With a Thrown Weapon Diagram, PH 158. If reaching the destination involves teleporting the subjecting into a solid space such as a wall, the subject is forcibly shunted into the nearest open space and takes 1d6 points of damage.

When you cast the spell, the five-foot squares you designate do not have to be adjacent to each other, but must all be within 30 feet of one another.

Material component: A pinch of dandelion seeds.

I would like to point out that I already said it was scattering trap.

Yes, but I don't have PHB II.

Thanks to all that contributed to my getting the answer I needed for tonight's game.

I know that, but I am saying that I already pointed to the spell, so all the people going

"Der? There are no spells that start with T in the PHB II and do teleporting traps?" Could have read all the way down to S.

My apologies, Kaelik. I was too busy entertaining the notion that the author of Jester just MIGHT have pulled something from Pathfinder... of course, that was all in vain.

Yeah, since the Jester predates Pathfinder by like 5 years, that's pretty damn silly.

For Polymorph version 1, polymorph other, how does aging work? Say an adult human is turned into a wyrmling black dragon. Does the human advance along the age categories as long as she's trapped in the form of a dragon? Does the original form age along, potentially killing the human of old age if the spell is removed a century+ later (by then, it'd be an adult black dragon)? Heck, what kind of children does said human have while polymorphed?

Don't know about the aging stuff (that depends on more detailed information about what happens to the target than is given in the spell as-is), but since the spell explicitly replaces the human target with a black dragon, any offspring would be identical to what they would be if the parent were a black dragon, because it is.
