Anyone looked at 7th Sea and if so is it any good?

It's by far my favorite setting ever.

The mechanics are a maddening mix of good and utter shite. The setting is a maddening mix of cool and horrible gaping hole. The game is in desperate need of a second edition.

Cool setting, cool mechanics. I assume you're referring to the "roll-&-keep" system, not that d20 abomination, yes?

7th Sea is a blast...probably my favorite system/setting for swashbuckling adventure. Princess Bride, Pirates o/t Caribbean, The Musketeer...this is the system to simulate those.

Did they fix any of the magic systems? Some of them were cool, but I recall that at very least nordic Rune Magic was complete trash.

No. Nothing has been updated. If you want to shapeshift without spending XP, you still have to house-rule it; and if you want to use the fire magic, you still have to make up your own rules for fire.
