Goodwill stores often sell leather jackets and coats at 20$ each. The leather layer for most of my body in my plate-on-'chain-on-leather larp armour is a 20$ knee-length leather coat.

Around southern ontario, most people don't get armour, mostly b/c of cost, but also because of sheer laziness and lack of technical ability to build things out of scavenged/found/bought materials.

The result is that "value village" leather jackets are pretty prevalent among the rather large amount of larps in the region.

With a set of good shears, or a cutting board; and dental floss, you can also take apart inexpensive leather, and restitch it to look like something that fits the setting.

The Gaming Den; where Mathematics are rigorously applied to Mythology.

While everyone's Philosophy is not in accord, that doesn't mean we're not on board.
