Whatever happened to shadzar?

Thread content = thread title.

I miss that insufferable nutball. Hope he's still alive, grognarding it up somewhere out there on the webs.

:viking:

Silva was far less amusing. The Powered by the Apocalypse engine needs to power itself into a fire and die there.

Oh, that's actually...infuriating. And sad.

So shadzar thinks that women and gays and blacks and Mexicans aren't allowed to play D&D? And as a hipster designer I'm especially offended by those two being included on the list.

Well, FUCK HIM. Glad he's banned.

I used to think his incoherent grognard nonsense was so cute.

What he was actually saying was he didn't give a fuck about a D&D that was made for anything but gamers. He just used fairly racist and sexist language to say it.

Yep, he's virtually impossible to understand but that was his point - games should be designed for the people that play them. I don't think he was against considering the wishes of any particular minority group if they were gamers , but didn't see a point in being inclusive for the sake of inclusivity.

But I don't think the place is any worse for him being gone.

My interpretation was that he wanted to pretend that games can be designed for "gamers" in complete disconnect from who those gamers otherwise are. Because what you want from RPGs is completely independent of your background and generally the rest of your life.

The fact that he was purposefully dense enough to require 'interpretation' says a lot. I understand he wasn't like that on other forums.
