Found a good thing, the rest are probably bad, so leave them alone.

The door opens into another corridor, which is well lit and appears to be in regular use.

Go left?
Go right?

Go left.

(I suspect the Messenger of Death has finished, but I'd really like it to pop by and say so, cause it's making me nervous about exploring too much)

Sure, let's try left.

We only have one letter out of five so far, but we do have four of the statues, so I think we can afford to explore.

The corridor ends at a flight of steps going up.

Climb up the steps?
Go back and walk past the intersection going the other way?

Hmm. I vote to walk past the intersection the other way, as I feel that the stairs lead to the endgame, and there might be some good items in the other direction that our hero needs to get.

You come across a bowl on a marble column. The bowl is filled with grapes that look fresh and juicy.

Eat the grapes?
Walk on?

The grapes taste as good as they look, and they have also been grown for a special purpose. They have magical healing properties. Restore 4 Stamina points. When you have eaten you fill, you walk on down the corridor.

The corridor ends at an archway which is covered by a black curtain. There is a skull carved out of the stone above the archway. Despite its ominous appearance, you throw back the curtain and step through the archway. You enter a small chamber which appears to be the annex of a larger chamber beyond the archway in the wall opposite. But your immediate concern is with the creatures who are standing guard on either side of the archway. They have human bodies and skeletal heads. Each wears a strange helmet in the shape of a Sphinx. In a rasping voice, one of the Skeleton Men confronts you, saying, "Give good reason to intrude on the domain of Leesha, or die." Both of them stride toward you with their spears pointed at you.

Cast Creature Sleep?
Tell them you have brought Leesha a Giant Sandworm's tooth?
Attack them with your sword, optionally saying something like "I'm here to assassinate Leesha" as you do?

The nearest Skeleton Man extends his free hand and tells you to give him the tooth.

Skeleton Men are fanatics, who always fight to the death. They will be difficult to defeat.

First SKELETON MAN Skill 9 Stamina 6
Second SKELETON MAN Skill 9 Stamina 8

Fight them one at a time.

You do not waste any time searching the bodies of the Skeleton Men, but run through the archway into another room beyond.
Leesha.PNG

You walk through the archway and up a flight of marble steps into a luxurious chamber, which has a high ceiling supported by parallel lines of marble pillars. Between the pillars there is a beautiful handwoven red carpet which leads up to another flight of steps. At the top of the steps, lying on a couch strewn with satin cushions, is a beautiful woman. She is being fanned by an ugly bald-headed creature. He has a muscular torso, a gaunt face, and milk-white eyes. You have entered the inner temple of Leesha. She smiles, snaps her fingers and her servant lumbers down the steps to attack you.

Leesha appears surprised that you have managed to enter her inner temple and defeat all her guards. She rises from her couch and steps toward you, holding aloft a shiny, black, crescent-shaped object.

Attack her with a Giant Sandworm's tooth?

I vote to slaughter her with the Giant Sandworm's tooth, as using the sword is probably just going to be another Game Over.
